Default Schroth 4 point harness

Does that particular harness require a cage?

Or can it be installed into the car like it does in the e92 M3?

The 4 pt is intended to be used with the light weight bucket (LWB) seats. Note the sewn in eyelets on the lap belts which mount to the seat. You need a harness/roll bar to wrap the shoulder belts.

Thanks...that's what I thought.

I have the LWBs, but no roll bar.

I plan to run Schroth 4-points with no bar on my 991.2 GT3.

How are you going to mount the shoulder belts?

I recall a thread about a 4 pt installation in a GT4 with the shoulder belts attached to the seat but can't find it. The geometry would not be right for a hans device but the ASM belt allows some rotation so maybe that would help avoid a basal fracture in a front impact. I don't know. I'd rather have a roll bar and then might as well get a sub bar and a 6 pt harness. Only my opinion.

Default For sale

I have a silver removable Agency roll bar that should fit any 991.1 that came out of my turbo S. I was using it for my schroth harness. I also have my harness for sale. Only 2 HPDE weekends on it. I traded for a GT3 that was already track prepped. PM me if interested in either

I hope you won't lap me now that we have the same car

Do you think you could bring the bar and harness for me to check out?

I'm not sure at this point how much I want to change the car.

It's going to be my daily, and I kind of need the little bit of room that's barely available behind the seats.

Chi - you got a GT3?? You were tough enough to keep up with in the M3...

This is Julius, with the Agate Gray GT4 (see avatar). I've got a GT3 coming as well!

Looking forward to next time at Barber!

I don't know about that. I'm curious as to the mounting. My understanding is that the Schroth 4-pt Quickfit harness doesn't work with GT3 (or any Porsche for that matter). I believe (and could be wrong) that this harness depends on the rear seat belt connectors and the shape of the seats in cars like BMW, Ford, etc.
