AutoQuest Motorsports - Titanium Caliper Piston Pucks for Failed Factory Ceramics
#47
Couple of questions on the topic....
What is the main argument about not being covered by warranty ? Even if the cracking happens due to heat (which I certainly dispute -don't want to start a flame war here though-), why wouldn't it be covered ? It seems like a weak design, which is actually proven by AutoQuest that came up with a better solution than ceramic that lends itself to cracking (regardless of the actual root cause).
How hard is to unscrew the bolt on the puck ? It seems quite stuck, worried that the allen key will just slip eventually

The screws are indeed difficult to remove as red loctite was used in their assembly. The pistons need to be popped out of the caliper once it's removed (compressed air in the brake line), wrapped in rubber strap and held while the screws are broken loose. We have had very little issue when following this method : )
