This car has KW Competition 3 way and Unibal Tie rods front and rear. A bit softer springs for semislick tires. Thit lap time was set on MPSC2 regular compound tires that have much less grip then Cup2s made for 991.2 GT3. With Trofeo Rs lap time would be much quicker. Usually Trofeo R 5-8 seconds faster then regular Cup 2 around the Ring
Funny that the car is an old high mileage Porsche US spec test car.
I wonder if it's the same one I met at the Ring:
Plates:
BB RS 839 the car I followed and was driven by a Porsche Employee telling me it's a Porsche car.
BB RS 848 the car in the video, also clearly a a purple US car.
Just read the article. Interesting that MR use the 918's N0 tyre, which the article states has slightly higher grip levels than the N1 for the RS. That contradicts general opinions, but perhaps this is achieved only in combination with extreme camber. The N1 does not seem to respond so well to that and appears to have most of its grip on the edges. Could be this is different with the N0, though that is pure speculation on my behalf.
Having just come back from a trip to the Ring, I'm having a hard time getting my head around the speeds this guy is doing. Incredibly impressive.
Here are Hockenheim sector, Gs and speed comparisons between the the Manthey GT3RS and a 991 GT3R and second image the stock 991GT3RS. Both RS cars driven by the same driver.
