I have had a lot of coffee in Spanish cities. Closest i found to a 3rd stream American espresso place was in San Sebastián. But I’ve had plenty of great coffee in Spain. Just not same style as in us. Here in Madrid we found a random coffee bar in a market in the chanberi market that was excellent. Probaly would find good coffee in gracia area. That is where I’d search first.
Youll enjoy barcelona. Great city.
Those peppers? Those were bought. I make similar at home but grill. Get either padron or shishisto peppers. They are similar. Shishisto are easier to find in socal. Brush lightly with olive oil. Blister on medium heat grill direct heat. Pull off and season with generous amounts of flakey sea salt. Eat. They are excellent.

For me, NOTHING compares to a CGT at full song. Greatest sounding production car engine ever built.

There's quantity and there's quality. I own both. Quality of note; nothing touches a CGT imo. Best sounding production engine ever made. Volume; CS is loudest OEM note I've ever heard at full tilt. Even my CGT with GMG and top off isn't half as loud in the cabin as CS. CGT with straight pipes isn't even as loud as OEM CS (although i think straight pipes totally lose the CGT howl, but that's a different topic). You open up a CS in a tunnel and you might blow an ear drum. I honestly can't believe it ever passed any noise requirements, even over a decade ago.
CS and CGT are two of the most distinguished noise makers you can buy. That era is just the best imo: mid-late 2000s.

Cgt. Noise crack. Just manic insanity. Can’t get it outta my head. These noises. Seem to go in cycles. 60-70s, late 90-2000s. We are on a noise downswing. I hope that sense is satisfied with future car generations.
Back on topic. More food.
Heading to U.K. tomorrow to work. Food pics will most likely stop.
Tomate alinadas - marinated tomatoes
croquetas jamon - iberican ham croquettes
carrilladas iberican - iberican pork cheeks
tacos Rabo de Toro - tacos with braised ox tail
ive succeeded in having iberican pork at least once a day.

was a weekend of trying out new gadgets. did some car foaming action and some big green egg grilling.
need to do some fine tuning, but got decent first results with both so was happy with that.
first pass with the foam cannon. got a thicker coat going on the second pass.
first cook with the Egg. quite enjoyed the nice wood smoke aroma coming off the grill.
since they recommend doing a lower temp cook first few times, went with spatchcock chicken action and some corn.
also wanted to keep the cost of potential failure low. fortunately things came out pretty well.

Nice virgin Egg! Did you get a platesetter for when you smoke? The indirect heat is key. Chicken looks delicious!
Went out cycling today with an old friend who moved here from Tokyo, 20 years my junior and in crazy good cycling shape. Gave me a run for my money. Great ride.

I was riding yesterday and coming south through Sausalito, CA saw a White 991 GT3 RS w/ half cage driving alongside me. If you're on here, I was the jackass in lycra trying to get you to rev it up. You didn't :-(
