I agree. I have a .1 GT3 and love it.

I will wait another year for the .2 GT3RS

^^this is what plan on doing #2 on the list at my local dealer..

I want one manual transmission car, so will keep my GT4 and trade .1GT3 for a .2 RS, unless I can scrape up funds for a Singer, then sell the GT4 toward that.

If you like the 1GT3, and you are happy with it, then you should skip the 2GT3. It makes a lot of financial sense. Having said that, I think the 2GT3 is on par, or possibly better than the 1RS. Porsche hit a Grand Slam with the 2GT3.

Porsche will always hit a 'grand slam' with any new GT car.

Shiny things...

I'm getting a .2 to try it out. If I love it I will keep it, if not I'll trade it in towards the .2 RS. Sales tax carries over in NY, so pretty low cost option to own one for 6 to 12 months.

Can totally see why anyone who has a .1 or an RS would be completely happy with those cars. Both amazing cars. The outlets on the RS fenders are one of the coolest touches Porsche has ever added to a road car.

The angry, angry sound of this .2 GT3 has me absolutely hooked. Add in the manual and this car is something I personally can't ignore.

We're lucky we all have some amazing choices.

Certainly I'm not the only one on the Porsche sidelines after the GT3 went PDK...

I know I am in the minority with only 3 months of .1 but I can't figure out what I would want more of. I think the .1 looks better, I wanted the PDK (I have "rowed gears" for 21 years), and there is no way I could extract the 2 tenths or even 3 seconds more out of the newer car.

The engine thing for the .1 is interesting but I have never been on a forum where a few engine issues didn't turn into a crazy manic worry.
- Honda S2000 had a small issue, people thought it would blow up; it didn't
- NSX snap ring issue caused all kinds of discussion, was fixed (this was transmission not engine but same concept)
- ZO6 valve train
- e46 engine bearing
- Name a car, someone had an issue which when posted on a forum nearly turns into panic

I am looking forward to the first 991.2 GT3 engine issue... it will spin up a thousand page thread demanding warranties and claiming the engine is junk. (I am not looking forward to the poor soul that has to go through the pain, that will suck for them, but something will happen)

Net... not worth the 40K or so additional cost for me.

Just my opinion, take it for what it is worth

Presupposes that everyone wants to spend $50K more on a car that may or may NOT be better for their needs.

Presupposes that everyone thinks that the RS is better looking than the GT3.

Presupposes that there won't be absurd ADM on the .2RS that eclipse the .2 GT3.
