The 991.2 GT3 was just announced as being offered with a Manual Transmission.
How will that affect 997.2 GT3 prices to:
1) Go Up - The new higher price of the 991.2 GT3 will pull up 997.2 GT3 prices
2) Go Down - The 991.2 GT3 will overshadow the 997.2 causing 997.2 GT3 prices to drop
3) No Affect - 991.2 GT3 prices and 997.2 GT3 prices have no affect on each other

smart guys will hold on to them
dumb one's will start selling
10 years later 991 is worthless
997 is worth mucho
shouldn't we be driving instead of wondering value. money is gone....

The 996 and 997 GT3's will be fine - they are analog and have a different flavour., and a well proven engine.
The real question is what will happen to the 991.1 GT3 prices? Essentially, the engine in that car is an orphan, only produced for that series, and still unproven for the long term, with a history of issues. What might keep up the prices is the unavailability of the new GT3, look like demand is much greater than supply ... damn Porsche is good at that!
Cheers,
Mike

It will drop slightly but then go back up in few years due to metzger, hydraulic steering, smaller size and a more classic rear biased 911 feeling.
I have a 991.2 manual GT3 on order but if i find a clean 997.2 GT3RS or 997.2 Turbo S i would buy them as well.

Agree that driving these cars is the important thing, not the value.
To answer the OP question though, I think the 997 GT3 and RS values will dip modestly for the next 3-5 years due to the manual .2 GT3, but then the 997 values will continue to climb higher and higher after that as they represent an unique driving feel and limited production numbers, and neither of those things will ever be repeated.
short term drop for a few years, followed thereafter by slow but steady upward valuation of 997 GT cars should be an option on your poll.

If this happens, I will fly out for it. I will have my quant do some modelling for it. She won a national math competition in Russia and doesn't even speak English, just numbers.

Prices will drop initially until it becomes obvious that the new engine is just as bad as the previous one, at which point prices will rise again.
