I really hope not, but with all the hype, stock market going up, epic specs of the new 991.2 GT3 and MANUAL TRANSMISSION, I wouldn't be surprised if some builds hit that price with dealer mark-up.

I think the GT3 RS was getting $100K over MSRP when it came out (at least in Southern California), and obviously the RS has more limited production numbers.

I hope enthusiasts (such as myself will get an opportunity to drive and appreciate what seems on paper to be the perfect car (track monster with enough creature comforts to make this a semi daily). However, this is a business at the end of the day and opportunists abound, especially the dealers.

I put a deposit on one of these several weeks ago (when my dealer, would accept deposits for these) with the hopes that I'll get to spec my own, but he already gave me the dealer mark-up depending on market demand blah blah.

We'll see what happens. I've mentally budgeted around $220K for this, but if this goes past $250K it'll be a really difficult decision and $300K is just silly (for me anyways).

I think you answered your own question. No way this car hits 300k; they should make plenty of these cars.

I really hope people don't have to pay even the $220K you have mentally budgeted. That would be insane. The used RS market will prevent that from happening IMO.

I guess we'll know soon enough as dealers start to call/e-mail those on the allocation lists. I'm surely not locking in a deposit w/o knowing what ridiculous mark-up they want.

You simply have to buy your car outside of southern california. Don't bother with any southern california dealerships, they are all a waste of time.

I live in Socal and got my first GT3 out of state at MSRP and I have a .2 GT3 allocation at MSRP, from out of state.

Don't PM me about it, I don't have a secret dealership that everyone should call. You just need to start calling and getting on lists in dealerships outside of california, best bets are in the midwest.

Do this work, and you can get a .2 GT3 at MSRP. But you won't get one this year at MSRP, but you will get one before the 2 year run of cars is over.

No. I expect the markups you see will be similar to what we saw on the GT4. $25k to start, coming down to $10-15k over time. More than that and the cars will languish unsold like all the RS's still sitting on lots.

Won't be $300k. Base price is up, more options, etc but even with mark ups they won't ever get to $300k. The last ones sold for $10-30k over tops at first.

Word on the street is that market adjustment will be 20-25k (at least initially). So $200,000.

That's roughly $50,00 more than I paid for the 991.1 GT3.

If cars are going for 200k then that means RS won't have come down much and 991.1 GT3 might be safe at 145.

I've grown to really dislike the whole GT car deal anymore. But Id guess youll need 200-210k to pick up a manual one.
