Wow, you're not kidding when you said they're stripping it back to the shell.

Please ask for other pictures. I'm curious to see how is the finish on parts usually hidden.
Thank you.

I would love to see a Meissen Blue 911R. I think its the right PTS (one of the few) on the right Porsche.

By the way, I hope Will does chime in on this
photo reported as a 'Liquid Metal Chrome Blue'
991 gt3 RS (below).

As you all know, photos often 'lie' about what a
color truly looks like to the naked eye. When I
think of 'Liquid Metal Chrome Blue', I remember
a metallic color with a slight, but significant, blue
tint in its lovely, albeit expensive, metallic paint:

The above are confirmed 'Liquid Metal Chrome Blue'
paint on the 918. The 991 gt3 RS above looks more
like 'Liquid Metal Silver' (if indeed a Liquid Metal) like
the one I posted in Rennlist several years ago at The
Thermal during a 918 test ride I attended there:

https://rennlist.com/forums/porsche-...ain-why-2.html

But what do I know? From the photo presented
the RS doesn't look much different that 'GT Silver'.

Yes, this is a very special one. Among the very small batch of PTS 991.1 GT3 RS's that were produced towards the end of the year (that I am also investigating more into). I was first tipped about this from two folks at Beverly Hills Porsche via Instagram. I couldn't believe it at first because as many commenters pointed out, it looked almost indistinguishable from Rhodium Silver in the pictures I received. Even the owner of the Swiss-registered Liquid Metal Chrome Blue 918 Eduardo posted above insisted to me this can't be it. Then I was tipped by the dealer that it belongs to a very VIP Porsche enthusiast that everyone here is certainly aware of. No soup for you! And I only mention this because he was seen recently in public with this RS in Malibu for brunch, so I'm off the hook here. With New York plates - you must know by now.

As to the paint job itself, $$$$$$. Likely to be the highest MSRP RS, at least in North America. As per Bev Hills Porsche, confirmed to be 1 of 1 for the RS. Bearing in mind the $63K Porsche charged for it on the 918, as well as the more laborious than usual feasibility test Porsche probably conducted for this color on the 991, you might have a better idea of the final tally.

Will they bake the paint, our top paint shop brings the temp up to 165 deg F to cure the paint. They have a new state of the art paint booth that runs through varied temperature changes..

Yes - the paint shop is fully kitted out. They've done quite a few cars now to very high standards (as mentioned earlier i've seen the results with "Woppums" RS, and my own 924CGT).

Some more prep pics:

You and me both!
Andy is sending me the pics from time to time. I'm getting a full set at the end.

They're paying attention to details - he's just asked me to send spare key so they can colour match the sides.

Have been away for a week so car has been in prep, waiting for me to approve the "spray out" samples. They were waiting for me when I got home, and I've checked they match my other Arrow Blue car....so should be all systems go next week.
