McLaren Success

My friend had one at COTA last weekend, and loved it. Said it was amazing. Also said they are delivered somewhat 'detuned' for official GT4 class racing, to something like 420 or 450hp.
I would think that with a 'conservative' re-tune to 550-600HP, it would be even more unreal.

Not really a great comparison, but out of curiosity, how does the 570S GT4 feel compared to the 600LT?

OT, but hard to see how these guys make any money with (optimistically) calculated 4% profit margin. That's practically breaking even without even considering unknown costs/problems:

This is certainly not a business where anyone is going to get rich quickly. But, I do think this video is also a bit of a sandbag to justify the 299 euro per lap price. That said, the market will dictate what they can charge as there is no monopoly on being a ring taxi. And for someone who has no seat experience in a car equivalent to the 720s, 26kms around the Ring in that car will be a lifetime memory which probably justifies the cost.

Thanks for posting. This is another reason why resale value of McLaren is terrible. While they release newer and better models, it at the same time crushes the value of previous model.

Thanks for doing the numbers. That 11k eur annual profit per car is still so tight and it assumes an average of 1100/172 = 6.4 laps a day for every day that the N-ring is open.

edit- I stand corrected. This will be a new model between 570 and 720.

I am too tired of typing to enumerate the SUVs.
Oh yeah and these cars update on 3.5 year cycles so the .1's depreciate the second the first .2 is spied in camo with higher displacement engine, wider hips, Weissach, or whatever else gets cooked up. The 991.2 GT3 RS that *just* sold, in some cases with $50k ADM, will be outshined by the 992s in months, not decades or something else absurd.
So please, save us all the lazy take on McLaren and new models. The idea they can't slot a GT car into their lineup is just stupid.

Flewitt also said the new car will be "a unique, tailored model" that won't fit into McLaren's current model tiers, which consists of Sports Series (570S/570GT and 600LT), Super Series (720S), and Ultimate Series (Senna and Speedtail).
