Nope typical MAC over production, and improved model comes out a year later. Also small dealer network, and a bunch of minor items break ......

The 12C and 650 depreciated like bombs. The 570S/GT is holding better. The 720S is too new to call.

12C guys whined hard, but the late buyers who were able to get steep discounts on their 12Cs and 650s did alright.
570 appears to be a great value, nothing else similar in the price range. 600LT will probably get a decent bump in price but it should be a good bump in car too.

Small dealer network was my issue plus placing Mac dealers inside Ferrari dealership those salesman / service departments were so used to being the top dog they forgot how to service a sale. Never had minor things break plus Mac gave all owners a free hp upgrade loved the car dealer not so much.

A little story.
A few weeks ago, Porsche gathered all the instructors together. They brought a bunch of GT3 4.0s for them to drive. But they also bought a 488, AMG GT R and a 570s. At the end of the day he Porsche engineers asked the instructors to objectively rate the cars. The result:
1. GT3
2. AMG GTR...but very, very close to GT3
3. 488
4. 570s
The 570S was a long last because it did not last the day. kept over heating so they had to park it.
All cars were compared back to back.
They also had a GT3RS there for comparison. GT3 was faster.

Having had some seat time behind a 650S and a 570S, I have to admit McLarens are fantastic and truly amazing pieces of engineering. But only in limited doses.
Between reliability problems, electrical gremlins and somewhat regular overheating of the turbos, a McLaren is sort of like the automotive equivalent of a Krispy Kreme donut.
They're a fantastic treat once in a while, but I wouldn't want a diet of just donuts day-in and day-out.

I think McLaren is hitting its stride. Porsche needs to get off its ***. I mean I love GT cars but once you're over $200K for a Turbo S they just aren't in the same league as Macca.

This is the first I have heard of this overheating issue. Can you provide some details? Water or oil overheating? Limp mode? Gearbox overheating? Track used? Outside temps?
Thanks
