Hi All,
We are in full prep mode for the Spring Smokies Event. As many of you have read on the forums, these events are an incredible amount of fun. The fall event is a quiet under the radar event, mostly for past attendees. We had 22 cars this time, and it's hard to believe 22 GT Cars is considered a "small event".

For the Spring, we expect to sell out, and it looks like we will have room for somewhere between 85 and 100 cars - 70 or so at the main resort and 20 at overflow nearby (at an equally awesome resort 5 minutes away).

This is an entirely not for profit venture for the organizers with 100% of proceeds going to the Cystic Fibrosis foundation (more on that later). Your entry fee will cover all motorsports events (except optional Thursday :Extra Magic Hours" Track Day), All food, a room at the resort for the weekend, as well as alchoholic beverages at certain evening events. Basically all inclusive. The entry fee is TBD, but remember that we do not make money on this and want to make it as affordable and efficient as possible for everyone.

The general flow will be:
4/20:
Warm up Track Day (Atlanta Motorsports Park)
4/21:
9 AM -Official Spring Smokies Track Day (Atlanta Motorsports Park)
2:30 PM - Depart for the Mountains on amazing route over wolf pen gap, blood mtn, etc around
7 PM - First Smokies Dinner at resort
4/22:
9 AM Smokies Airfield Event or Mtn Drive (driver's option)
12 pm - Box lunches somewhere in the mountains
7 PM - Charity Auction and Major Blowout event to support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
4/23:
Mtn Drives, some attendees depart that day, others stay for one more night / dinner

As many of you know, one of our own (Jon Baker - 2016 991 GT3RS) has 2 children affected with CF, and we've made it our rallying cry to do whatever we can to end this awful disease. What the Bakers have done over the years, raising millions of dollars and not accepting that the life expectancy is so short for CF patients, has been humbling. We have a lofty goal for this event which we will accomplish via corporate sponsorship, live auction items, silent auction items and personal donations. Last year we raised close to $50K.

Cystic Fibrosis should be terrified, knowing this pack of angry GT cars is coming after it! We all left Spring last year with an incredible sense of accomplishment for what we did. Our group was in the top 10 last year for the Great Strides campaign - something to be very proud of. So, we can't guarantee a spot, as this event will almost certainly sell out. Luis, it's going to be a lot of fun and are sponsors and participants are incredibly fired up this year.

Although our spots are filling up we have managed to keep a few for members of the RL Porsche GT community who have not yet registered with us.

My wife and I were fortunate enough to attend the very first Smokies event and each one since. We've made some great friends and made some wonderful memories!
