Happened to read through the GT3 engine swap thread; checked the VIN and the GT3 I'm looking at is an F series motor. Late '14 build 2015 MY.
Thanks for all the input guys. I think I'm going to give the TTS guy a call.

I'm torn between two amazing vehicles. A loaded TTS with under 1k miles, or a mildly optioned out GT3, with 6500 miles.
Both are Agate over black, with the 18 way sport seats. Both are offered for very close to the same price - just north of 150k. I plan to DD whichever I wind up with. The GT3 is certified, the TTS is not.
I know I'll enjoy driving either; GT3 with a more sporting character, better noise; TTS more refined + Burrmeister to make up for the lack of noise.
For me it really comes down to which would hold its value better over time. Edmunds used car appraiser puts the TTS much higher than the GT3, but I don't know if that can be trusted.
Help?

I own both. I love them both. If buying from a dealer new, without question a GT3 will hold its value better. But you are already presumably buying the TTS used and at a substantial discount. Therefore, at a projected resale several years from now, the depreciation difference would be much closer.
The character of the cars are totally different. The GT3 is FAR more playful, nimble and fun to drive.
I've put over 17,000 miles on mine, most with my wife on long and surprisingly, very comfortable trips.
So I have been Daily driving it. OTOH, the '15 TTS is even more comfortable, quieter, smoother, and does not constantly force me to suppress the hooligan side of my driving skills. Having both, which car I choose
really depends upon my mood. Both are deeply satisfying to drive and you would not go wrong with either choice. In choosing only one as a DD, you must ask yourself what you are seeking in a DD. If it is excitement and engagement, the GT3 is by far your best choice. If it is a quieter, most comfortable ride you
aspire to, the TTS is your best choice. Both cars will provide ample acceleration to dispatch anything short
of another Supercar from challenging you on the road. Only you can decide which of these car's character
come closest to your ideals. Fortunately, You can't go wrong with either choice.

If I could only have one it would always be the GT3. I had both but I can't say I ever loved my TTS which is why I turned it in.
I found the turbo lag and PDK to not really work well together? Anyone else experience this?

I have a modified 997TT that is very powerful and I thought it was a riot to drive until I got my GT3. The GT3 is actually more comfortable than the 997 and a lot more fun to drive. The 997 turbo is much more of a visceral feel than the 991 turbo and even so, it doesn't hold a candle.
Ultimately, as aleady stated, you can't go wrong with either. It is worth driving both to see which fits your wants and needs better.

I recently attended a Porsche event at Skip Barber. Lead cars (driven by instructors) were GT3RS's. Hots laps and launch demos were all TTS's. Might have been some turbo lag but I never felt it and the hot laps were unbelievable. I had thought TTS's did need some exhaust sound improvement but standing behind one at launch blew that perception out the window. Pun intended.

You need to drive both....
I did the same: had to have a GT3...just not even a comparison to me....you may feel the exact opposite.
A ton of turbo (and now "turbo" ) 911's out there. I mean a TON.
not many 9000 RPM NA flat 6's where I live. YMMV
