Advice - 2015 TTS or GT3?
I'm torn between two amazing vehicles. A loaded TTS with under 1k miles, or a mildly optioned out GT3, with 6500 miles.
Both are Agate over black, with the 18 way sport seats. Both are offered for very close to the same price - just north of 150k. I plan to DD whichever I wind up with. The GT3 is certified, the TTS is not.
I know I'll enjoy driving either; GT3 with a more sporting character, better noise; TTS more refined + Burrmeister to make up for the lack of noise.
For me it really comes down to which would hold its value better over time. Edmunds used car appraiser puts the TTS much higher than the GT3, but I don't know if that can be trusted.
Help?

If it comes down to which will hold its value over time (like you said above), this is a no brainer. A GT3 will hold better value than a turbo s. I personally wouldn't make your decision based on resale value, but its up to you.
If you search there are a million threads on GT3 vs Turbo.

There are more chances for GT3 to keep higher percentage resale value over long enough timeline, say 5+ years from now.
Short term it can go opposite. When I sold my TT and got GT3, I was sure TT is depreciating quick and GT3 will hold it's value. Both cars used with equal mileage.
16 months after, if want to sell my GT3 right now, I'll lose 10% of what I paid (and I'd got my car much under MSRP). Funny thing, if I want to buy exactly the same turbo I sold, I would pay 5% more now. 991 GT3s gone down in price and 997.2 TTs gone up. At least in Europe.

They're asking around 10k over the GT3's original $141.6K sticker. Are people still paying over sticker for these cars, even used?

If I were DDing, I would not use my GT3. The Burmester sounds system is amazing. I had it in a C2S. I wish I could have gotten it in the GT3. The GT3 is pretty loud on the road. Unless you are tracking, I'd take the TTS in a heartbeat.

I have pretty high tolerance for what I'll DD; my first car was a 1985 CJ-7 and I was perfectly happy DDing that. I prefer loud/sporting over refined/high-end audio. My current car, a '14 M5 is much more refined than my last (09 E60 M5 with RPI exhaust - read "LOUD"). I miss the E60; preferred it to the F10. I do intend (hope) to do some tracking.
The only real issue I'd have with DDing the GT3 is that loud rear wing. I realize it's sacrilege, but if there was a clean, easily reversible rear-wing delete, I'd probably do that for road use, and put it back on for the track.
Thanks a ton for all the advice; I think the most important take away for me here is that the GT3 is overpriced.

Agreed you should not need to pay over msrp for a used GT3.
Also agree that GT3's have held their value noticeably better historically.
I've driven both. GT3 more fun for short spirited drives or at the track while the Turbo is a better overall more comfortable daily driver especially on long trips. How do you envision using your car?

In retrospect, I would never buy a TTS before experiencing a GT3 and if you are into tracking, no comparison the GT3 is the better choice, even if the TT is faster.
The turbo much smoother/more luxurious/NUMB, good or bad depending, the GT3, much more raw/mechanical feeling, way better sounding and just track focused. The GT3 is just a more over the top experience, the turbo MUCH more subdued. Both amazing cars in there own right. I look forward to the day I can afford to own both at the same time.

Daily driving a GT3 would take some of the special occasion out of it. It is a treat to drive, and I would never want that to become boring or typical. Porsche designed the GT3 to be a street legal race car you can drive on the street. For DD duties they built the TTS among other models. That is the better car for that.
Weekend toy = GT3
Daily driver = TTS
That's the way Porsche positions them. Doesn't mean you can't DD the GT3 and track the TTS, because both cars are very capable.
