What a bummer! Sorry to hear. So has DDW pulled it also or is the guy just waiting it out for more money? I chased that same car one time but couldn't move mine fast enough to make it happen. I say get a deposit down for a .2 and hold out for a pts.

Looks like they "lush toys" on eBay not DDW was asking $179K previously then dropped it to $169K the second time around in the above completed listing.

Sleazeball ... Everything happens for a reason. You'll probably be better off avoiding this generation entirely and waiting out for the .2.

Guys - I just want to jump in and comment that I'm not sure Ryan at DDW had anything to do with this particular "deal." Sounds to me like it's an issue between the buyer and the actual owner of the car. Ryan just had it on consignment at his dealership and from what has been said, looks to me like all negotiations were discussed with the actual owner...

I've personally bought three cars from Ryan at DDW over the past year or so. He has been nothing but informative, easy to deal with, friendly and consistent to what he says he can or can't do.

Just my 2 cents...

I'm bowing out of this conversation Who knows everything that's going on behind the scenes. Sounds like it was a bit messy. And Stefan, I hope all is well with your family, as that trumps any GT3... no matter the color!

My experience was not so positive but since it no longer involves the mentioned business, I will edit my post and remove any mention.

Thanks for replying. Ive tried to contact the seller multiple times.

Certainly didn't mean to be disrespectful to anyones "family". No disrespect to DDW, as they had absolutely nothing to do with this transaction. Im not interested in arguing here, but I do feel it necessary to clarify. From the very first conversation, the seller knew I needed a partial loan, as the car was above my price cap, and the seller knew it may take until the 10th of june to get out to AZ, but hopefully sooner. After that was discussed and agreed upon, he accepted a deposit.

I kept in contact every other day to keep the seller informed of my plans.
Then.. yesterday..
I received a paypal notice stating the deposit was refunded with no phone call, no text, but only the ebay message.

Perhaps I missed something here? To me a deposit means we both agreed to the terms and the car is sold to me.
If the buyer pulls out, the seller keeps the deposit based on those terms, but if the seller flakes... I have no recourse.

Maybe I should have kept it to my self, but I did decide to post here and I appreciate all the kind words from all the RL family.
Ive moved on, and don't mean any disrespect you you or your family.

I just wish you would have kept your word. Hope your family is well,

Nate

My bet is that you'll see a new owner for this car within a week. The GT3 circle is small. It will play out soon enough.

You can make a reality show out of high end car sales Hey, that's an idea!!

In contract law if you have agreed on parties, property and price and have followed up with a deposit you have a contract! And as such you have recourse if you wish to pursue it.

Probably time to lock this thread down before it gets further into "he said, she said."

Bingo, especially if both parties acknowledged said dates (June 10th) and loan.

But what's your damages on the buy side? You don't have the car? No real damages there IMO (but I'm not a lawyer...)

How could you really force someone to sell something to you?
