I would never use a seat protector ever.

Don’t think he mentioned a “seat cover or protector”. He’s asking about the booster covers made to prevent wear on the bolster as you get in and out.

I bought and use them on my more commonly used Porsche cars. Very useful protector especially for passengers who are not careful gong in and out of the buckets seats. Protects your bucket seats.

Drive safe,

Has anyone heard anything recently about the CF steering wheel inserts?

Search this forum for Crazy Eddie's bolster covers, "LWBS Protective Bolster Covers". He has sold a lot of these to Rennlister's and the feedback is always positive. I bought a set of his with yellow deviated stitching and followed his instructions. Took about 10 minutes a side. It was really easy. Great guy to deal with and always a timely response.

thank you. does crazy eddie have an installation video? matt's video is great. the exclusive option video is near worthless, it's so dark you can't see half of what they're doing and the editing makes you wonder how much time was required.

Thanks for the useful feedback. Probably a wise investment.

I am looking at the vendor Crazy Ed as well as the preferred source. I have been communicating with him and he is very responsive and helpful.

The only concern I have about the bolster protectors is creasing after the final install and there have been a few problems reinserting the seat switch for some. Though leaning toward Crazy Eds product because of the two piece design probably will make creasing a little less likely.

I had no issues with creasing or the switch. Eddie has printed instructions that are really easy to follow and understand. Contact him and he'll send you a copy. Switch pops out and pops back in.

My point is that the seat looks better without the cover on than with it. So one is basically degrading (albeit mildly) the looks of their seat for the sake of preserving the leather.... which will be the benefit of a future owner assuming you’d never remove them. Reminds me somewhat of the black vinyl car bras that were en vogue in the 90’s. They were effective in preventing stone chips but meant you’d have a car that looked worse than any stone chip(s) ever would. It’s obviously not a fair comparison because the side bolster protectors are relatively discreet, but the concept is the same. In the end it’s a personal choice.

I own a 2RS and it gets used regularly.

All valid points and I completely understand your perspective. I am also concerned about the esthetics with the use of bolster covers.

The old "save her for the next guy" mindset. Makes perfect sense.
