Phil, the car looks great.
The more you discover about the car, the more you're going to enjoy it.
Congratulations!

Phil, Now you know why I was called a Porsche Fanboy on the M forum, but that is because the Bimmer was really disappointing me compared to some of the previous generations. Now I am Porsche-less while I wait for my GT3 allocation / shopping on the used market. Imagine the itch I have for these cars.

Congratulations on your GT3! We should meet up at a car meet.

Congrats Phil. I am glad you got the 2016 allocation and the GT silver looks great! The Dunlops are a great tire. I was bummed I did not get Michelins as well but when you drive the car and push the car more and more the Dunlops are a very solid tire. How do the LWB's feel?

I also had a new M5 and I sold it after 6 months of ownership, boring car. I have a 2016 Cayenne TT on order and I can't wait to get the SUV for my daily, its going to be a beast!

seems alittle unfair to compare the GT3 to a M5.

i think M-cars AND P-cars have their pluses and minuses. but i'm preaching against the choir i suppose. the only porsche i've owned and tracked was a 944.

the reason i hang around is i'm a great fan of the 911. but not a fanboi by any means (even of BMWs)

Not comparing their speed or track worthiness. Just the experience. I agree 100% that I bought the marketing koolaid. The Porsche is just a better experience. In fact, I'm driving a 4door JK on 40's and enjoy that more then my M...

Nice poster! I opened a retail store this year for my wife - we focus on custom flooring & millwork (family sawmill business)/ Game Room/ Fine Furniture /Art & soon my car dealership. I was at the BCA Expo in Vegas and decided to add some neon to the frontage of the store w/ some of the car theme stuff I like.

I was tickled to see you also remember this photo.

Man- I love GT Silver. Almost went with it but decided to go jelly bean. If my car was still open for changes I think I'd need to add the LWBS although I plan on some long interstate - cross country drives so perhaps photos of your car and some drop in seats will have to do for me.

For a 1st Porsche car - GT Silver & looks good on all the options. my friend you have set the bar very high for yourself. Job well done!

I had an Alpina B7 off-lease for a year was great on the hwy. Man what a POS nightmare - cut it before the warranty went out. Picked up a Cayenne S for sales calls & work- also off lease. Great vehicle! Mine had a MSRP of $99,420k I got for $54k.. I'd shop around and grab a car CPO. Even at that number I think its depreciating in my hands at $1k a month.

Cheers-

Thanks all! Really appreciate the well wishes. I'll reply to some of the more specific posts when I have more time.
In the meantime... Good news is I'm getting some mods done... Bad news is I had to say good bye to my silver bullet this AM...hoping it will only take about 3 weeks. I made some changes that may push the schedule and the paint correct, PPF, ClearPlex and custom vinyl are expected to eat up a good week. Then off to FabSpeed.
It's going to be a long and painful winter just looking at my car in the garage. Just from the little bit of driving I did last night I can already tell I'm going to put some MILES on this beast!
