The truth is Porsche should sell the 911R to enthusiasts that have never betrayed the involvement of a manual transmission and didn't sell out for PDK. It's easy to check.
150K $ and 500 pieces sound like magic numbers.

What's actually going to happen is all of these cars will end up with 918 owners and collectors, used as furniture.

Very true, but who knows. Maybe they won't make them quite as limited?? Maybe fills in the gap between GT3 .1 and .2? I'm sure will be scarce though. No GT3 production numbers.

918 perks?? A whole other conversation

"However, the production cycle of the 911 R is expected to span over multiple years. Without a doubt, the Porsche 911 R will become a collectors item"

Well,I'm 100% sure a small potato like me will never get a chance to own one. At least I'll get to see them at the local CC. Oh wait,I don't really go to CC! I'm definitely going to start going now!

As a fellow small potato I asked about getting one a couple of months ago with my dealer - was asked to put down a deposit a few weeks back so maybe I have a 1% chance of getting one. My dealer doesn't normally ask for deposits from me until I have a v200 order.

They for sure at one point used Cosworth heads.

Although I admit my posts can sometimes be flamboyant,I definitely wouldn't discount someone's post, whether it's just a personal opinion or a fact. I apologize if I have ever given you that impression in regards to your posts.
I certainly hope it will not be as limited,if not for my sake, but for others.

I wasn't referencing anyone specific just used your quote as a reference to never getting to own one....you're all good! My point is that we've heard crazy quotes from 25 cars to 400....it will be more than some are speculating.

Ok cool.
Yeah I agree. When I read that only 25 will be produced,I've started quoting the cleaning lady a few pages back. There's no way Porsche will only produce 25 cars! They're not Pagani.

Fill the gap between the GT3 991.1 and GT3 991.2? How much better do you expect the 1.2GT3 to be?

Why should be limited?

1 Historical brand marketing celebration reasons
2 Overlapping with other higher profit making models ( see 991.GT3 or RS Vs 991 anything)
3 Low demand ( see 991.1 GTS)

A) if a powerkit GTS replacement version and nothing more than badges here n there

points 3 and 1 are true and linked reasons
( very few GTS 991 sold 2) and dumb marketing 3) )

B) if a more power than GT3 and real not too long geared lightweight gearbox and overall lighter than GT3

point 1 and 2 are true

so most likely but not said if until launch
for good reasons
limited

From what I am hearing this will be very limited and will be what has been conveyed on this forum. It will be a retro-throw back sort of edition so let the Collectors fall over each other. I am waiting for the 991.2 GT3 with a Manual transmission,
