Sport Auto Track test GT3 vs GT3 RS and others
From October issue of Sport Auto(courtesy of Germancarforum). 991 C2 vs GTS vs GT3 vs GT3 RS vs GT3 Cup vs RSR on track.
The Carrera and GTS probably have similar tires, while the GT3 and GT3 RS have the same type of tires, while the Cup and RSR have racing tires.
The GT3 RS is 1.4 seconds faster than the GT3 on this track. Also interesting that the GT3 RS's top speed is the faster than even the mighty RSR.

Thanks for posting. I wonder how close the RS could get to the Cup with the same tires.

RS will be quicker than Cup & RSR on the straight due to less aero. The aero is giving those cars massive lateral G along with the slicks. The GT3 is slower vmax on straight likely because BHP & torques benefit of RS is giving better exit speed out of the turn leading to the straight. 1.4s difference on this 3.445 track seems about right. It's not a twisty track though. I just returned from a 3.2 km track where my GT3 can put in a mid 1.40 (my best with passenger was 1.42.16 on factory tyres and George) which is 4-5 seconds slower than the Porsche series 997.2 cup on slicks - it is a far twister track and vmax in the GT3 was 225kmph. The track has some elevation and was hard on brakes. Expectations store the RS will be 1.1s quicker on this track (Taupo Motorsport a International A1GP circuit). This review looks really interesting and I wish I spoke/read German!!

Regarding speed on straight, bear in mind that in addition to differences in power, weight, tires, and aero you must factor in gearing.
Of interest to me is that there's a 16sec gap between base 911 and RSR with the RS virtually dead in the middle. 16sec on a minute and half track is just monster.
