I received the set today. There's three things i recommend before the install:

1. Wire brush off the red lock-tight from the black studs . I did because i wasn't sure and neither was Ira how permanent or what it really was.
Use 243 blue lock-tight then you know you can remove if necessary.

2.Make sure you chase the black 12mm x 1.5 threads they were really rough .
The 85 mm st-stl threads went through the chaser like butter no resistance.
The 10mm threads were OK on both sets.

3. I would also run a 12x1.5 chaser into the alloy caliper mount before the install. You should be able to run the stud all the way in by hand without it getting caught.. carl

It'd be nice if they made a set of stainless studs for the front to match the rear. The rears look the business.

I'm curious about this bolt. The Suncoast website photo looks like a regular bolt that's one size along the whole length. Why is this replacement different sizes on the two ends? It would seem that if the hole in the caliper mount is a larger size thread than the hole in the caliper, the bolt could not go through the caliper.

I may have an extra set of these for sale, I ordered an extra set for my girlfriends GT4 but she had the same idea. Tarett wants 24% in fees to return them and right now they seem pretty confused if they have already shipped them.

Studs do not equal bolts*. Follow the directions in the installation guide thread and you'll be fine.

*If you want the technical explanation, the larger 12 mm end fits into the aluminum upright, while the caliper mounts over the 10 mm end and is supported by the 12 mm shank (which is flush with the mount).

In most instances, studs are a better way to mount and retain something.

So the hole in the caliper is 12 mm and the stock bolt must also be 12 mm. It seems that the stud could have been 12 mm on both ends unless I'm missing something. Thanks for the explanation.

The stock fastener is a cap screw so the head diameter is smaller than a 12mm nut so the stud tapers to 10mm to have a smaller diameter nut that seats down into the same recess in the caliper.
