Parking Brake Failure
Had this happen for the first time today. Yellow warning. I turned the engine off and back on and the message was gone. Was unable to move while the warning was on. Probably should have taken a pic. Sharing incase anyone else is having a probem as well.

And for the love of god don't open door while driving by to grab newspaper at end of driveway from drivers seat!!! And yes I'm 40 years old and still get a traditional newspaper....even my retired neighbors flame me while showing me how I can get news "digitally" now.

I believe this is a German car manufacturer thing....I don't see any U.S. Government requirement for it

My friend's 428XI BMW does the same thing. Really annoying IMO! In NYC there's no way to keep your rims clean when parallel parking on the driver's side. For the passenger side you at least have the side mirror tilting down so you can see the curb. Perhaps they should have the driver's side mirror do the same thing.

I get that a manual parking brake might not integrate well with the center console in the 991 but still.....
The EPB is one of the very few things that bug me about my car and by far the worst part is the parking brake/door relationship. What a PITA. If that could be fixed, I could live with it easier. Not as bad as my wife's BMW i3 though, where it is literally impossible to have the electric drive engaged or even in standby with the door open.

I do actually like the electronic brake, could save some idiot from doing something stupid like driving with the door open
