I think it's safe to stay that Scottsdale needs to go on the bad dealer list. Those fockers are asking like $25k-$30k over MSRP for a GT4. The sun must be getting to them.

Fkem.
No car is worth paying over MSRP. Sorry. None. I don't care if it was driven by Steve McQueen, and autographed by Jesus.
Six months from now, it'll be last year's model. THEN, watch the price magically adjust itself.

Definitely not above MSRP for Arena Red. No offense to anyone who loves that color, but not the most flattering of all possible options. Also Guards Red stitching is the wrong choice. Grey stitching option would've made more sense. Someone will buy it though.

As an owner of Arena Red, I disagree with you. You know what they say about options. Not only do I like the color itself but also the exclusativety of the color.

Arena red metallic is an elegant color. But no doubt shaytun is right about the guards red stitching. That spec selection makes no sense on an ARM car, exclusativety or not.

Anyway, the car will sell whether folks like it or not. It should be gently used as I believe it was sold new to one of their regular customers who rotates through cars every couple of months. Perhaps the buyer can get Scottsdale to include CPO for the considerable premium ... really the least they can do.

It's a great color. And, if I was buying a 2014 991 for $80,000, I'd readily tolerate the slight deviation of guards red stitching/Arena Red paint.

But for that kind of money? I once had a new Mooney Acclaim painted to match the color of my watch face (true story). For money like that, you should get exactly what you want.
There's a bit too much of the old style Rolls Royce, "You're very lucky we're allowing you to buy one of our masterpieces" attitude in the new Porsche market, in my narrow, biased opinion. This year's exclusivity becomes next year's discount opportunity. To each his own.

Agreed, the platinum stiching would match better than GR stitching. I'm also planing to paint the calipers yellow or black.

Those dumb****s are probably those folks with more money than brains coming from CA. Luckily those winds don't blow into the midwest for the most part.

Clearly, I wouldn't over pay for a car but it's a decision point for a person that has a want. Some members are willing to pay max 10k over, and let's say that person makes 500k a year all would say no big deal. Now a guy makes 3M a year and pays 50K over it's all relative to cash flow. My grandfather called me foolish for paying 21k for a mustang in 1995 because he paid 20k for a house in LA in the sixties.

Again, I wouldn't do it but I don't fault people for buying what they want. Anyone who over pays for a RS will get back the over pay plus some when they sell! We live once guys, and we're blessed to own these machines have a good weekend.

This is one of the late '15 PTS gt3 allocations that came in three colors - 'Signal Green', 'Arena Red Metallic' and 'Fashion Grey'. Each color was specced with particular options and couldn't be modified (in most cases) by even the lucky dealers that received these 'surprise' PTS gt3 late '15 allocations. In fact, we have not yet found out who exactly specced these cars, so we can't pass along the 'complaints' about incompatibility of the deviating stitching color. Neither 'Porsche Exclusive' in Germany or Atlanta were apparently consulted.

So our search for the complete story on these 30 PTS continues...

However, we have known about for a long while that this Penske dealership in Arizona was allocated one of the 'Arena Red Metallic' gt3s. We are keeping track of all of these cars at the thread linked below.

https://rennlist.com/forums/991-gt3/...grey-gt3s.html

I think the last time where this particular allocation to Scottsdale was mentioned on our ongoing thread was in June in this post:

When you think you've seen it all ...

225K used Mexico Blue 2015 GT3 with over 2K miles.

Actually you know what is "dumb ****s"?

For those individuals dead set against dealers charging a premium over MSRP, those same individuals should also (1) never post about a dealer selling a car above MSRP or (2) reply to such a thread or (3) both. Doing any of them is dumb ****s.

The only dumber ****s is telling and judging people on how they should spend their own money.

Doing both, makes it the dumbest ****s.

Obviously, your ****s may vary.
