Into track bliss. Seems like a great deal for the dedicated tracker, PCA club racer...

I love Cup cars, but for me the consumable cost is lower and pace better with Radical SR8. 15" Dunlop and Avon slicks and brake pads and rotors are cheaper and the new RPE powerplant has proven pretty reliable

To buy a dedicated 911 Cup track car you need a few things...
A bit of money...car, consumables, service work.
Garage space.
A track or two within a couple hours drive.
Trailer and vehicle to pull it.
A performance tuning shop relatively close
Expect to drive a long ways to get to tracks for club racing
Dedication to a new lifestyle...not much time left other than for working.
Am I missing anything ? Oh yeah, bring your Ballz..
Hopefully I will do this before Paul Newman's age when he started back n the day. 53 now...the clock is ticking.

You can do it with less and frankly it creates spare time time - more than tracking your street car. I pay $250/month to store my track car at a local shop and $270/return for them to tow it to and from the track. I turn up to the track, drive until I'm done and drive home.
I think it's pretty much a wash with having a dedicated tow vehicle and trailer.

What PCA class would this Cup race in (due to the upgraded 4.0L engine) and would it be competitive? If GTA2, then it wouldn't have a chance against RSR's and other beasts in there.
What does "IVM Automotive factory roll cage" mean? Don't all cups come with Porsche roll cages from the factory?

Haven't done this yet, but have been playing with some numbers and this absolutely makes sense.

If this car is maintained and prepped by 911 Design, you can bet it's fantastic! Anything Loren touches turns to gold. You can bet this thing is not only a monster, but also very well taken care of.

I do not have the mechanical abilities to get a dedicated track which i would think will make it too costly to maintain.
Maybe in the future. Tempting to buy it though. The problem also, i would be forced to learn a lot of new things to make sense into it. No time right now. Icant even drive enough my current stable.
