Any update on this? I have just taken delivery of a MY2016 GT3 here in South Africa and the feel (alcantara) and size of the wheel are the only things I'd like to change.

Is the rim any thicker ?
I know it's a smaller diameter but wondering re: rim thickness

I had the optional "thicker wheel" in my 997 RS 3.8 and loved it.....stock wheel in the 991 GT3 feels like holding a pencil.....

I'm in, but only if there is some official communication in writing from Porsche that it can be retrofitted, and dealers are willing to do it. Not willing to try some after market install on something involving the front air bag.

I'm seeing my dealership at the weekend about a couple of things and so I will ask them to find out from Germany if this retrofit is possible and what is involved.
