love the voodoo!

NateOZ 05-31-2015 06:15 AM

Viper Green or Voodoo of those choices. I clicked and ordered Viper, but Voodoo would be my second choice.

PTS aside, the car begs for Lava Orange.-Richard

bronson7 05-31-2015 08:35 AM

Any would do me fine, but I'm still a Mexico Blue fan.

I would do a unique historic color vs. the same blue or green that everyone else is doing.....
Aubergine, Tangerine, Signal Yellow, etc.

poofyo101 05-31-2015 10:52 AM

That is exactly the order of my top 5 from top to bottom. Great Taste

From what u have mentioned I love the Signal Yellow.. Only problem is my Gt3 is in Racing Yellow and I would like another color.

Richard 1st thing is LO is the launch color and there are gonna be a lot of them on the road.. So I'm not gonna bother even considering LO. Some people wouldn't wait for the PTS production to start.. But I have no problems waiting to get an awesome color.

I was just going to suggest tangerine. I didn't look to see if it's on the approved list, but it is just a stunning, brilliant color and I imagine would look pretty incredible on the RS.

I'm a big fan of Signal Yellow (and Orange) but also have a RY GT3 and as an Australian Viper Green was a natural garage mate. I think I will be trading it, but wanted to keep the option open. After Voodoo, I think Birch Green or UV is the 3rd spot for me based on what's approved right now.

Voodoo or Mexico would be my choice. Although there will certainly be a lot of LO out there, that's still my choice assuming I can't get PTS.

As you all know, 'Tangerine/Blutorange' is historic/vintage early 911 color with a long tradition at Porsche. It was also wildly popular in its day...so there are plenty in this color still around!

***********

Rennlister djcxxx, who was planning ahead for his 991 gt3 custom order back in 2013 actually submitted a PTS request to PAG for that exact color (via his Florida dealer & 'Porsche Exclusive') with some minor assistance from me (a contact I have at PAG verified they had actual chip of color, which you can see below):

https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...32d24a7a82.png

*********

PAG then started the ball rolling. 'Blutorange' first appeared on the PTS list as under 'F' or feasibility study...and all seemed fine. Then the news came that it was rejected - not approved - for PTS in the 991/981.

David (dmcxxx) and I have talked about this over time & it's our belief that his request for 'Tangerine/Blutorange', color code 018, was rejected because 'Lava Orange' had apparently already been selected as one of the special colors for the 991 gt3 RS. And 'Lava Orange', we strongly believe, is actually a few shades off from the actual formula for 'Tangerine/Blutorange'. Like 'Ultraviolet', which is a few shades off the historic 'Royal Purple', or 'Club Blau', which is slightly different than the vintage 'Acid Blue', 'Lava Orange' is simply a variation of 'Tangerine/Blutorange' with a new name!

We don't yet know why the historic '018' color was not matched exactly...so I have more sleuthing work to do! I will have more to say about this in future posts at this new thread on our forum. And I encourage all of you to post your PTS comments there too as a reference guide to everyone interested in this PTS subject & the RS:

'Acid Green' or 'Lichtgrün'/Birch Green'

The bottom photo (Swiss car) been told is a wrap. The real PTS 918 is either 'Lichtgrün'/Birch Green', color code 253,

or true 'Acid Green', if that color was ever specially formulated for a 918 client. See/read more about at link below:
