Default 991 vs 997 LWB Leg Room?

Can anyone that had a 997 with the GT2 Sport Bucket seats and now has a 991 with the lightweight bucket seats tell me if there is more leg and head room in the 991?

I've sat in some 991 cars with regular seats vs the 997 cars I've had with regular seats and the 991 seems to have more leg room that the 997. I'm hoping this caries over to the 991 with LWB seats too.

Agree. Seems to be a bit more leg & head room and the seat seems a bit wider. I always thought the GT2 seats were a touch too high for me, but I have the 918 seat slightly raised from its' bottom position.

Do it!

Agreed. Plus, on the 991 there's height adjustment on the LWB seats. That makes a BIG difference.

Significantly more leg room, head room is a little better. In the 997, the tallest I was getting in the car comfortably was 6'6"- 6'7", now 6'9" fits comfortably.

Same with the boxster & cayman: 987 could fit 6'4" max, now up to 6'7"

Thanks everyone...I'm 6'5" tall avg build not skinny not fat 217lbs but remember my left leg was amputated 12 years ago...not sure what my left leg weighed...LOL

My 2012 Carrera GTS is doing 2 more track days and then it's done...mods coming off this fall and looking forward to selling it or trading it.

I want a GT3 with LWB but they have to be comfortable. The GT2 Sport Buckets I have my my GTS are ok but after no more than 2 hours on the highway I have to get out of the car. Really 1 hour is about enough. My prosthetic left leg doesn't help because it doesn't bend like a human leg and hip joint. So if the 991GT3 LWB have more hip and leg room this is perfect.

Mike
There is a huge difference. First you sit on the floor with the seat all the way down. This leaves generous headroom especially with no sun roof on these cars. The seats go back further, I am 6'4" and need to put the seat up a tad. With my helmet on I still have three fingers above my head, never had so much room before. This is your car better jump quick, PDK perfect...

Mike, If you are waiting until Fall you should be able to pick up a low mileage car. With the RS showing up for the non 918 owners there should be a few nice GT3s on the market.

Great thread thanks fro asking Mike.
I never thought to ask but very good to know the seat tilts back and there is more room now. It was a tight fit in the 997.

I'm 6'7" 240 lbs. the foot room, head room and seat pan room of the 991 GT3 buckets are the most comfortable I have experienced in a 911.
