We'll see. It seems odd for the track focused car to be offered with an option that slows it down, but you never know.

if that is the case, I think that noise you just heard was the RS price bubble popping.

I think the 991RS has a few more items besides the Transmission that has the purist crowd turning up their noses....

As an Australian... Wheels Magazine is quite possibly the least reputable source in terms of "Scoops"..

Take the information with a very large grain of salt. In fact, take the entire salt shaker with you.

With the information released in this "scoop", would Walter Rohrl really compromise his job by spilling the beans to some two bit mag? I think not.

Absolutely. As I said on the other thread this is a hatchet job and Rohl is a master of diplomacy and wouldnt have told an Australian journalist anything that would compromise his job regardless if that was how he feels. I think the whole article is BS and I know for fact the RS MT part is definitely BS...

What's so hard to believe a manual will also be offered? Why would anyone be bothered by having two options?

They just did it on the GT4.

Obviously there was a lot of bitching about only a PDK offering on the GT3.

A lot of guys prefer the manual connection a car gives regardless about the "faster" PDK. Track times come down to skill, PDK or not.

RS=PDK only,no question about it. Porsche does not perform " brain surgery ", nor do they work in mysterious ways. They're pretty predictable if you think about it. It's " either or "...and we've heard it a million times : " small department/not cost effective " etc.
Same goes for RWS,which appears to be present, despite rumors, power levels etc etc...PREDICTABLE PREDICTABLE PREDICTABLE.

They did surprise me with the GT4!

Great car.

One thing I've realized with Porsche, they ALWAYS give people some sort of reason to trade up with every new release. Constantly dangling the carrot.

Read the article my reference was to Rohl dissing porsche for turbo engines saying porsche taking wrong direction and it's why he bought a boxster Spyder etc when I read it thought the Australians were having a **** take as we call it down under ...

Quick Reply: Rohrl also confirmed that, unlike the PDK-only GT3, the RS will offer a manual transm
