Today I took the car out in mild traffic and came to the conclusion that this car is not intended to be a Daily Driver. When the car is in Automatic, non Sport mode and you are driving in city traffic it really does not sound happy. So much clunking and popping etc. I know it is normal because i have experienced it in other 991 gt3s.
Today the more I did it the worst it got. Once i was able to drive it with a bit more spirited rpm it sounded and acted perfectly.
There is no way this car is happy being driven in this type of environment so to that i say unless you are always going to be pretty clear of traffic this is not a DD!
Also, on a totally separate note i don't like the shape of the wheel and paddle setup nearly as much as Scud. Maybe i will get used to it but position of hands if you are working the paddles just doesn't feel as natural as scud setup.

coming from a 997.2 GT3, the 991 GT3 is a perfect DD.. so comfortable and smooth.. perfect for trips too.. i dont like the chattering and clunking at slow speeds... but just turn radio up...

For me it has become a DD.
I do use manual mode, not auto.
FWIW I have an M3 and expected it to be my DD and the GT3 to a weekend car. Other than a few raining days over the past 60 days, my M3 has become very lonely

Great to hear.Think those that really don't need to deal with traffic (or hauling kiddies around) this car is SOOOOO easily a DD it's not funny.

the 991 gt3 is actually one of the easiest sport cars i have driven. it can feel a little too sporty as a dd but it is very acceptable to me. for the handling and performance of the car, i don't think there is a better sport car than the gt3 as a dd. maybe the tt/ tts? for example, people said r8 is very road friendly and etc. I have found gt3 is way lot easier to drive than the r8, and the handling is incomparable too, same to mp4-12c and 650s.

Completely agree with OP. Can't imagine DD in this car. Normal auto mode is ludicrous how it shifts into 7th gear at low speed, bogging engine, in PDK sport drive, you'll be in 1st gear at 5k in traffic. It's loud, it's firm, lacks visibility out etc. Absolutely love it. But not as DD. Purely personal of course

Car has it characteristics and idiosyncrasies. Not an S class but not a pickup truck for that matter. It is a great problem to have when one can claim a GT3 as a DD.

Where in SoCal do you live? I am going to DD the GT4 (but also use it as intended on the weekends). Think I may be in for some pain / scraping, but you only live once.

I'm in Beverly Hills and took my buddies 15 GT3 out for a bit and sadly...aside from a couple canyon runs...I was glad to give it back for the sake of it's unusable potential out here day to day haha. Also, the ceramic brakes squeal WAYYYYYY too much for comfort. My racecars have been quieter.
