Check Coolant Level?????
I just got back for an awesome 700 'break in' trip in my GT3 (impressions posted in my birthday present thread....) and I have a question (and I hope the answer isn't 'rtfm'....)
Every morning, when the car was cold, the 'CHECK COOLANT LEVEL' WARNING would come on. After the car warmed up for a few minutes, it would disappear, and never come on again until the following morning, when the car had move been driven for 10 or so hours....I watched the temp gauges carefully, and the car never ran hot, but...is this normal? Should I be concerned? Back to the dealer???

Sounds like you might be a hair low for some reason and the fact that level is OK when it expands indicates the deficit is low. If it was me, I'd add a small amount of coolant (say 200 mL) and see what happens. If it resolves the issue but it comes back, to dealer. After all, coolant adding is easily accessible to consumers, making me less paranoid about topping off.

Id follow Sams advice. If the car isnt overheating Id say its just a low fill or a system that needs a reset. if the temps going above 90C at idle then it could be a faulty thermostat (I had one within first few Kms of picking my car up and its a known issue on early cars - and many 991S). If it were overheating it would give you another different earning message form my experience...

Probably wasn't circulated fully at the factory or dealer and you had an air pocket somewhere - car probably "burped" it out so was measuring as low.
Not sure what the ratio of water to antifreeze is on the factory coolant, but I would use water to top up if the car is going to be tracked heavily...

Only other advice is also watch for any leaks. In my case I had the same message popping up for few days before I realized I had a very small puncture (almost like a pinhole) in my radiator, and the coolant was leaking out very slowly then after few days I started to notice the leak under the car, and I ended up getting a new radiator under warranty. I have posted here last month about the radiator failure. Good luck. Mark

I had this problem initially with my then new 2013 991 C2S 3.8 engine. The dealer said that there might be an air pocket and suggested to just add water when cold. When you open the coolant cap, you should see a red float that tells you the coolant level. I used a third of a Poland spring bottled water, dealer okayed it, and it never happened again.

Just a quick note here : I believe the mixture is still 50/50 in most areas. If you're only adding a small quantity then you can use water. But very important : DO NOT USE TAP WATER or any bottled water. USE DISTILLED WATER! You can find DISTILLED water in supermarkets or pharmacies.
You do not want the impurities found in the bottled water or tap water end up in your coolant system. I actually had a friend test a certain brand of bottled water(I won't mention its name) in parallel with tap water. Amazingly enough, the bottled water had more impurities than the tap water.
