Got the Xpel Ultimate kit done yesterday and the results are Awesome. Anyone in Atlanta or nearby, Derek at Atlanta Protective Films does unbelievable work. He had done a la Ferrari recently that was being shipped to Wisconsin!

He did the hood, mirrors, fenders, bumper, rocker panels, door cups, trailing edge of rear wheels, a pillars and first few inches of the roof.

The attention to detail is astounding. He even modified the xpel pattern to give me more rear fender protection and wrap around the panels in certain places.

I talked to him about the headlight delamination and he said he's never had a problem. He does the headlights in suntek because it's easier to install and it's apparently nearly impossible to get Xpel ultimate to work on the 991 headlights (much thicker).

I'd post pictures, but it's basically invisible save for a few lines. I couldn't be happier with the end result.

Do you then put a nano coating over the whole car to make it shinier and keep it clean more easily?

Any chance you can tell me what you paid? My local guy in the North East is really good, but seems pricey at $3k for a full hood and full front fenders. I thought it should be around $2k.

Around $2k is the norm.

I have a brand new Xpel Clearbra on my 997.1 GT3 ( front end to the windshield, a pillars, doors) with coating on top of it.

Paid $1,900 all in for both.

I figured $3k was excessive. I'll shop around. Thanks!

$1600 including the rocker panel kit and tax. Without rocker panels it would have been $1200.

In full disclosure, I got a small discount off the total price above since I have done 5 cars with him.

I'm so glad you're happy with the install.

Isn't it a relief to get it done?

All he does is film. Doesn't do opti or anything else.

$3K seems high given you could do the whole car for $4-5K. My S6 with full hood (only partial fenders though) was about $1300 and as you know that hood is much larger.
