Good Dealer List
On another thread Jimmy-D suggested we start a list of the dealers that are "good." For me this meant:
1. They told me the straight story
2. They provided refundable deposits
3. They charged MSRP
I have two dealers on the good list:
Newport Porsche in Newport Beach (I let me first allocation go for personal timing issues)
Circle Porsche in Long Beach Ca. (My current allocation)
On my bad list would be
Porsche Beverly Hills asking $15K over MSRP

I was quoted $15k over at Pacific. Kinda ticked about that because I send them business and own a home nearby. Also service one of my cars there. They have a white car available. At least as of a week ago.
Quoted MSRP at McKenna. Perhaps because I'm a repeat customer. Jan. delivery.

Good list:
Sonnen Porsche
Loeber Porsche
I've heard one dealer 'game' is to put you on the list, with a deposit at MSRP, but will bypass you on the list if someone offering more or if someone has a more expensive build shows up. People ordering strippers get screwed.

Yup completely agree with this. I talked to one dealer who told me he had an allocation, so i gave him my stripper build, but then 30 min later he called back to say oops it's gone. I certainly got screwed there.

Auto Gallery tried $30K over on me, too.

Porsche of Bucks County is a dealership under the Thompson Organization (formally known as HOLBERTS), I am a Porsche Brand Ambassador for the company.
1. We do not charge over MSRP, This is on any Porsche or other manufacturer the is in the Thompson Organization
2. I do require a deposit, but I am faced with some not so STANDUP potential clients. I have taken "refundable" deposits and the client then switched dealers because of an earlier date of delivery from another dealer. At which then I am sitting on a 2014 GT3 with a MSRP of $135K. My usual MSRP has been in the $145K area, this means I am sitting on a Rhodium Silver GT3 that the client backed out of. Any offers?
3. We are amongst the most "stand-up" and professional dealership. No deception, straight talk and straight deals. What you see is what you get.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if that is what you want from a Porsche Dealership

Manhattan Motorcars is very professional and did not charge me over MSRP. I worked with Larry Kosa and he's a straight shooter with many years of experience.
My bad list is South shore porsche who charged me over msrp 18months ago and raised the price a week later and had the nerve to call me a month later to raise the price again. And that was 18 months ago.
Roslyn Porsche is supposed to be good but the day I went, they charged me over MSRP and said I might not even get it because their customers can jump ahead of me even if I placed a deposit.

I suspect there are different deals for different clients. Depending on how many cars you have purchased from them and who you know.
Based on what I am told no one "sits" on a GT3 there is a long list of customers.

Porsche of San Diego. Their list is sacrosanct. Doesn't make a difference if you are a long time customer (which I am) or not. When your turn come up you get called.
