Mike - I am assuming you have to be in auto - not manual?? Do you keep gas floored?

Even automatic 996 turbo is faster than mt 996tt. Did not look like Sabine was playing with the paddle or the shifter. Mike

She was in auto/sport auto. You could see he wanting to touch the paddles but she did not. Its not needed for the fastest launch.

I have done a few burn launches using "paddle neutral" (that is fun) but in honestly havent tried launch control yet!

Thanks. Here's an Int, engine bay and ext pic. I won't jack the thread anymore I always like my stuff to look good as well as go fast... I added an in car video too. I think it's funny when people say a 991GT3 revs too fast to have a manual. My car made over 1500rwhp and rev'd to 9500rpm and I never had problems shifting it before hitting the limiter.

An old video from 2006 running 8's. You can see my shifting the manual tranny. Watch how fast the tree goes by off the line

First, I haven't tried it yet; just going from what the manual says and from descriptions in road tests. But FWIW the manual does not specify that the gearbox has to be in a certain mode. Also, in the Car and Driver test they said they shaved .1 second by upshifting manually with the paddles.

To answer the questions: yes, you keep the gas floored, I think it works in either manual or auto mode, and in auto mode it will definitely shift gears for you.

Macca, did you have any wheel hop during your launch?

I thought the paddle neutral on the 991 gt3 was specifically set up to do burn outs?

Yeah Macca I looked at that for awhile in HD but the lettering is strange - some backwards letters/numbers?

The wheels are from a brand named 'Zerra'.

No axle tramp when I did it at the track...

duckie thanks for the link. I'll look more into this. Nice looking wheel and if good enough for Sabine good enough for all of us!

Awesome, a PDK with traction control beats a manual without traction control. Pretty obvious results. My X5M is faster to 85 than my RS.

But the noise of the 991 - oh my!
