Default Performance/Torque function

Anyone have a good reason why I should pay attention to this? Still trying to figure out how this function helps me......Yes I played video games ( still play forza, GT5) but this seems a bit superfluous

I've deleted it from my display list, along with some other things, so I can scroll easily between the engine status readouts and tire pressures. I see that performance display as a gimmick. Maybe if you download data to a PC it provides some useful info somehow, but otherwise....
