Default Odo reading after the engine swap ?

How many miles did your cover while it was away getting the new engine?

Of course some testing is expected. What is reasonable?

Mine covered 48 miles while it was gone.

Great question.

How many miles did the car originally arrive with?

I know that in addition to whatever miles were put on at the port after the swap, PCNA asked dealer service techs to put on 24-25 miles after the cars arrive at the dealership.

Yeah, 30-40 sounds right. Dealership is supposed to drive it 24 miles for testing. I don't think 48 is unreasonable.

All I can picture is that valet scene from Ferris Bueller!

I hear you double.

I'll refrain from posting that picture of that fake Ferrari with the Star Wars theme playing in the background again but I have a ..

Question.

All of you category A guys, did you get 100k CPO powertrain extra warranty?

Marcus, I don't have the actual document yet, but my understanding is that the overall warranty on the car has been extended to 5 years or 100K miles. I'll be curious to read the fine print....

Mine had 1792 before, and 1823 after...so 31 miles were added.

Thanks Mike.

I really can't believe any Porsche guy on the face of this planet believes that the 14's will be worth any less than a 15 car. Especially with that 5/100k warranty. I was discussing this very subject with a good friend of mine today over world cup and he argued that the value would be less. He also lost our gentlemen's bet as I'm half German and well...

That make this years machine the "race car" value of the century. I mean really. A 9,000 rpm road car that will escape most mortal men's idea of what's possible with an automobile that you can basically flog on a daily basis for years to come.

I'll be doing my very best to get myself into one before the end of the year.

I know it was uber painful for all Cat. A fellows but with compensation and that warranty I personally feel in the end it was unbelievably "worth it."

I apologize for going off topic.

Cheers.

Thanks. Good to know--I'm a Cat B guy, so wanted to know about how many miles to expect in total.

Of interest mine did around 100 miles run in at the dealer. I have no idea why until i picked up on a comment on another board where another new owner stated his tech needed extra run in kms on his car to synchronise the PDK with the new engine due to some software issues and i suspect thats what was the issue with mine too. His was also an early ROW car like mine so Im speculating it can be a longer process for some cars where the software and firmware patches take longer to register successfully or something?

Not sure what it was previously but the recommended maintenance schedule for the 991 GT3 CL's is:

Replace central bolts every 6K track miles
Replace rear wheel hubs and bearings every 6K track miles
Replace front wheel hubs and bearings every 12K track miles

There is nothing in the maintenance schedule for street use with CL's besides a "check" every 24K miles.

The big difference between the 991 GT3 and earlier models is that the warranty states that track use will be covered as long as the accelerated schedule above, as well as oil changes at 6K instead of 12K and other checks and inspections are followed.
