Check out article by Tony Callas & Tom Prine (pg. 123) on the '14 GT3 Engine Failures.
They provide some interesting/impressive info on the performance of the engine pieces & their thought on what lead to the Stop Sale decision.
good reading...

GTEE3 Thanks much for posting this most educational piece I have seen to date on the speculative
cause of these engine failures , For which Porsche needs to be commended for so promptly addressing, in spite of what we the customer found to be so frustrating with regard to there communication relative the Stop Sale issue on the whole. Dare I say Fastenating !

Thx! Addresses the challenges in creating a fastener/connection to withstand the loads in this 9000rpm engine, forces similar to Porsche's 2007 GT3 RSR racing car ... this new GT3 engine needs to withstand these forces for 100,000+ miles.

9000rpm 100000 miles.
that is not and should not be hard
S2000 has done that for decades. it's REALLY REALLY hard to destroy one of those engines.
if that was the true issue, OMG, the german engineers need better schooling....
i bet there are other hidden stuff not discussed and cannot be discussed and dont want to be discussed.
