Clubsport Rollbar for US
Being new to Porsche and the GT3 I had to do a bit of research looking back through old threads. It appears that DOT regs have long kept the clubsport option off the available list for US buyers.
At one time PCNA made the parts available to order directly in the US. Most recently though it appears PCNA has discontinued these parts and distanced themselves from them, perhaps over liability concerns. Anyone know if PCNA will offer the 991 clubsport parts?
Some owners of previous generation cars have ordered the clubsport rollbar and front cage sections from European outlets and had them shipped to the US. According to the UK configurator, it appears front cage sections for the 991 GT3 will be available from Porsche motorsports.
Of course Porsche should just allow you to select the $0 option for a clubsport metal sculpture and ship it to your home separately.
Historically, are the clubsport parts the best way to go or are the aftermarket bars as good or better?
Anyone thinking about a group buy in the spring?

The Porsche Clubsport parts have been the benchmark for the GT3 in terms of Roll bar and front cage assembly. Fit and finish, resale etc.
Im sure you can import them from FVD or Carnewal when the time comes.
I am also sure that GMG and others will offer really nice bolt in alternatives as well which are just as nice, just not "factory" for the purist.
Porsche will never ever sell Clubsport bars in North America. Too many lawyers and red tape....

So CS package with cage and seats is free outside the US??? That's an amazing deal.. Don't we have to pay a few thousand for seats (when they were available for the 997)

I've ordered this on my New Zealand GT3. In NZ the seats are a cost option (about 8k NZD), the the clubsport kit of cage, fire extinguisher and harness is a zero cost option.

Sorry, not definitive, but the best I could do without taking my interior apart.

Joe, I was asked via a PM to check this a few days ago. The rear flooring in the 991 GT3 is a one piece molded bit with carpeting on the top. It's rigid, and you can't really peel it back. That said, I did feel all around that area and couldn't detect anything underneath; apparently in the earlier cars the mounting points could be felt through the carpet. Sorry, not definitive, but the best I could do without taking my interior apart.

On this topic i called PZ in Nuremberg to check if they can order the cage to be fitted in my Canadian car and it's not for order yet. Hope it will become available soon.

I just wanted to follow up on this for you, Joe and others. My "informed source" has confirmed that if you don't order the CS package or can't get it, as is the case here in the US, the 991 GT3 does not come with the welded in mounting points for the roll cage or 6 point belts. On cars with the CS package the rear carpet and side panels are different with holes and gaps for the roll bar integrated into them.
