Default So for this year are all The "RS" connotations "OUT THE WINDOW", or is it just "50TH"

I got Suckered into looking at the web special for the new GT3, and oh boy it sure ain't an RS as in yArs past. Its the GT3 50th Anniversary Edition. WHoopee.

If you're down to update your Porsche GT3 and are mulling on what to do with it and ain't locked in a build; well it's time to get calling around to get your GT3 50th On Order.

And what really pissed me off; only 475 BHP! That's it? Seriously?

I bet that is because the Model Redesign is fresh and they need plenty of space to go upward on onward. I was hoping they would throw in the 4.0L right off the Bat but that doesn't look like it will just happen JUST YET! Hopefully it still will be on GT1 Vintage when it does appear in a year or two or if they have something under their sleeves they ain't talking to us about just yet.

BUT Redline at 9000 RPM, would love to take that into the Berkeley Tunnel or the Tunnels over in Long Beach Underneath the Airport for a hoot, after of course taking the car to Sharky!

There's no GT3 50th edition.... There's only a 911 50th anniversary edition, which is a C2S with C4 widebody and for you lucky americans, a standard Powerkit. And some chrome details, houndstooth seats and deviated stitching.

Why is 475hp not enough? Did you drive he car?

BTW the new GT3 isn't an RS... That has yet to be introduced.... (Probably at the Autoshow Geneva, march 2014)

I don't know what is the big deal with 9000 rpm redline. My 01 S2000 had it, my 98 Integra typer R had it (i had mugen mods/valve springs), the 997 RS' are pretty damn close, my R8 V10 is at 8900 rpm. The 458 is at 9000 as it should be.

Anyone know what the dark gray color on the 50th Anniversary 911 is called? Is it a special color only for that model?

My apologies if I helped to side-track this thread, but I was wondering how a 991 GT3 might look painted in Graphite Grey. That is why I popped the question to begin with...

No apologies necessary! Just saying there's a wealth of info available on the 50th in the 991 forum--I think the color question was dissected in a fair amount of detail.
