Default I'll be Going Now.....

I've enjoyed my time on this forum, but i'll be going now. I came here thinking I could get a manual in the 991 GT3, but it seems like it's a dead end. I have zero interest in the PDK.

I've raced the Corvette since the 60's. I think it's best for me to stay with it. My plan it to buy a fully loaded C7 for a DD, and a stripper Z06, or whatever they plan on calling it for the track. That's still only a little over what the GT3 would cost. Not that I usually think about what i'm spending, but I don't want to spend foolishly either.

So, once again it's been a pleasure being here, and I bid you all a goodbye, and hope you all have happy track days.

TrackFan – you should test-drive a 997.2 GT3 or 3.8 RS before you give up on Porsche. Both incredible cars and finding a low-mileage one isn’t difficult.

While I think you'd be better off with a car that comes manual (ie your vette, an RS 4.0, etc), if you really want a manual it can be done. You could pm me if you're serious, I know a couple guys with unquestionable credentials that might be able to be talked into it. I tend to agree that the smart money's on the Vette, though, so I wish you luck.

honestly guys, give it up, I don't see *any* indication that there is a snowballs chance in hell of a manual (unless you call the 7 sp variant of the PDK box a manual) appearing *ever* (even then I dont see Porsche putting that box into an RS, and it certainly wont appear in a race car)

Go back, read/listen to AP's interview ... its not going to happen ... "abandon hope all ye ..."

A more "track focused" RS is only going to (attempt to) "improve" upon the PDK-S (if that is possible) how else is a 991 RS going to match or better the GT3's ring time etc (Mr Fusion + flux capacitor)?

embrace your "flappy paddled" future ... or "keep rubbing the stick.." (like me) in the "coal-fired" 997's and 6's ...
