Put an xpel wrap on the new Gt3, $1500. Entire front and first third of roof plus rocker panels and hips. Do this for all my cars.

For track cars, I use a commercial security glass film which is better than clear bra and less fussy versus tear off. Doesn't discolor in the sun either. Get a good year of DE use out of it.

Wait, so are people putting film on the windshield or not? I'm not sure I'm reading it right. My current track car has windshield "frosted" after someone had a high-speed off right in front of me and threw sand in it at 120MPH+. The windshield is cheap to replace (at least on a BMW), but I noticed that clear bra at the front had no damage from that sandblast at all, so a film of the windshield seems like a good idea.

cost me about $120 and its held up really well. Change every year. A new windscreen is about $900 I think, and pock marks really quickly on track even if your try and stay in clean air all the time.

My windscreen has Suntek 4Mil safety window film. No issues with it and it's pretty inexpensive. Glass underneath is like new.

I got a quote to replace the windshield on my '11 RS. If I recall correctly, it was $1500 at the dealer. I'm definitely putting film on the next new car. Porsche glass seems really soft and therefore easy to chip.

they use custom. i would wrap EVERYTHING forward of A pillar, wheel arches, front of rear fender. mirror if you must. i dont cover other parts. they dont get rashed much. i do drive my cars a lot, they get chip here or there, but not enough to warrant wrapping those area. if i had that much concern, i might as well just park the damn sculpture.

Why don't people just actually wrap their car a cool color like flat grey or whatever else strikes their fancy?
wrap car in color; those are not same as clr film. clear is MUCH thicker. clr film is protection not for beauty contest. not many ppl care what their condom looks like. it just need to work.

This company sells precut NASCAR like tear off windshield protector that I've successfully used at the track for 8 years. Much thicker and stiffer than the body films. You can buy it in multiple layers and tear off the top when badly marred. Requires professional installation.

questions about wrapping the rocker panels and the rear fenders? where are they cutting it off on the rear fenders? do they wrap the rear pillars up to the roof ?

i've never done that before but it seems enough people think its warranted

thanks!

Expel Ultimate Self Healing Clear Bra. Complete front end including, lights, roof and rockers. This was on my 2012 Black GTS and it really made a difference, easy to clean and looks perfect, specially with Black. The person that does the install really matters. Evan Rowe does all the clear bra's for Porsche of San Diego and Symbolic Motor Car Company.

For the windshield, you can't tell at all that it's on there?

Planning on entire front, both doors (area behind door handles included), side mirrors, rockers, and rear. No one usually takes ownership for the nail scratches On my current car I have paint chips on both doors (2 on each side).. I think it comes from debris launched from front tires.

Also, need to find a solution for the door sills. Ladies shoes with studs do wonders. Any ideas?
