Interesting article and I would expect no less of my favorite motoring magazine EVO!

The crux of the matter is in the paragraph below. The 991 GT3 must become the third car in Meadens sentence when it launches or it will relegate all subsequent GT product as the poster child of exactly what Meaden is saying here (and rightly so). If Porsche haven't produced something utterly superb Porsche could be in for a bit of a pasting in the motoring press....

Well said and balanced.

And agree with Macca entirely.

All of the good super cars are going to paddle shift. I am a solid mt guy, but understand that to get the performance numbers, and to stay with the competition technically, the PDK is the ticket. But I still want the option if it is marketed as a street car.

I personally think the GT3 should be offered both ways, and the RS should be PDK only.

Just my 2cents.

Lifted from Rennteam

His company car is loud, cramped and doesn’t even have a roof – so when Lewis is driving for himself, it’s unsurprising that he likes something special.

And Hamilton, 27, who races for Pagani rivals McLaren, has insisted his latest set of wheels is fitted with a manual gearbox.

‘My company car has a paddle-change gearbox, so when I drive for fun I want a manual,’ he is understood to have told Pagani bosses, according to Evo magazine...

Hamilton is merely stating the blindingly obvious. This is what happens when marketing is allowed in the room. Center-locks, push-button starters, and flappy paddles.

Good perspective, and I have to agree. The reason for my car is to have fun driving and the MT adds to my enjoyment.

I'm not sure why the MT can't be an option on the GT3 and Turbo. It's not like Porsche is shy about their optional equipment list.

Great editorial in the April Panorama by Pete Stout on this topic, as it specifically applies to the 991 GTR.
