Fried tofu and asparagus mimetically disguised as "Schweine-schnitzel" (not to upset the local populace). Where is this place? In Germany I am always forced to seek asylum in Chinese restaurants.... or drown in cream-sauce...

Munich, Hamburg, Cologne. . . I don't think I've had a good meal in Germany yet.

btw you can see me enjoying a bier prior to such a meal on their website! ...

and now back to the debate about the buckets ...

btw is it wrong to covet the "GT3" logo on the new seats?

by good food I mean good German food. I suppose the pig knuckle at one place was pretty decent. And the liverwurst was fantastic. But otherwise. . . . not a lot of fresh veggies except white asparagus that was in season during my last trip, and nothing particularly delicate. The Kolsche beer in Cologne was fantastic though. Even at the touristy Dom.

Just not a fan of German food I guess.

I met up with a group of attorneys who work for a large chemical company in Cologne. One was a was an avid cook and foodie. When I asked what type of food he cooks, he said 'anything but German food'.

The food in Spain and France. . . now we're talking! Shoot even the food in the UK was better than the German food.

I was just in Shanghai/Seoul/Tokyo. . . whoa some of the dishes were mesmerizing.

Anyway, back to GT3 bashing.

I was teasing our vegetarian friend! No tofu on the menu. Ochsn-Willi is an institution in Stuttgart for traditional Swabian food! That is where I had the spargel on Wednesday!

Agree. Back when I started visiting Germany when I was working in Paris in 1974 & 1975, that was true. The food scene at 'the fatherland' has changed enormously in the intervening years. Try the following two if any of you visit diverse parts of Bavaria...and bring the wife:

and

http://www.schwane.de/

See the dinner I had tonight at 'Zur Schwane' in Volkach, Germany! That's not the meal your father had when he was stationed in Germany in the 1950's with the US Armed Forces!

Saludos,
Eduardo
