"Best Porsche he has driven." FWIW, Autocar the British magazine is considered in the same class as SportAuto the German magazine. Both are recognized to be the best car magazines.

Nice review. For those of us not on this board to whine about the new GT3 incessantly, but rather intend to or have committed to buy the new car, I think we will all be blown away!
To me the subjective commentary is the most important, b/c wall know it's brutally fast and capable. But the enthusiasm by the reviewers speaks volumes about its appeal.

Wow, that's a rave review if I ever heard one! Give me the sport buckets and I'm probably in.

Gents with orders. Congratulations. The reviews here in will only get more peachy of that Im confident. There will be a few more in the next week Im sure. Wait until this car is reviewed on track - then we will be very impressed indeed!
Im guessing that there will be an overwhelming tide of positive sentiment by the time the global mainstream motoring media get to try this car but by that time the order book will be full.
As AP says "shut up and drive". This could become an interesting historical saying!
The good news is for those that have ordered I think you will be very very happy campers when you get to drive this car. That its perhaps the best performance car Porsche has made full stop to date by that time (including the 4.0RS) will already be subjectively cemented in motor journalism history by the time the cars will be delivered I suspect. Wether you yourself find this to be true or not is purely an individual thing. Keeping an open mind about the transmission choice is the best way of approaching the experience. I have no experience with PDK but Im very much looking forward to learning all about it...

Macca what impressed me about the video besides the subjective commentary, was the clip of him shifting in the reflection of the tach. There looked to be no perceptible lag, instant bap bap bap upshifts.
My big complaint auto-manuals I've driven is the lag b/t input and gearchange action. If the gearbox really is that good I think it'll be great.

My e 63 shifted the same way.....pop pop pop with the short shift paddle throws combined with the ignition retarding it sounded amazing between 1st 2nd and 3rd just like this gt3 does.

The Harris review was posted in its own thread and resulted in a complete meltdown b/t folks who took the Harris' comments at face value (PDK and all) v. those who simply concluded that Harris is the antichrist. I can't really recommend reading the thread, but it's in the forum for review.

I sat shotgun in a new 991S with PDK and was impressed by observation. However the gopro on that video shows the correlation between movement and shift via the reflection as you say and those shofts are WAY faster than what I saw happening in teh 991S!

I've instructed in a CaymanR and it wasn't as fast as the video, but still really impressed me. I drove a Tip 993 a few years ago, and a buddy has a 996 Tip. Both are so slow I could never live with them.
