Default European delivery notice

I am planning far in advance for a euro delivery late next spring or summer. My son surprised us and said he would tag along, (he is in his 30's)

From your experience, how much notice will I receive to book tickets and go. My concern is my son may not be able to leave with little or no notice. As much as these cars move around, I can concerned with being able to predict and hit the date. All the other facets I have been able to find on the boards and fell pretty good about.

Thx!

Mine was about 3 months notice. Call PCNA or arrange with your dealer, if you have any questions.

You will also have the opportunity to push out the date, so that should give you more time to plan.

Pushing out a date is heavily dependent on schedule, availability and location. Don't bet on it. Should be able to book well in advance, just get your dealer to put in a request.

I had a confirmed date 5 months out. Car was built a month and half before I picked it up.

First you need an order for a new Porsche with a commission number, then you can request European delivery. Based on your post, it sounds like you want to schedule the delivery first, it doesn't work that way. After you have an order, the actual delivery date is something you work on with your PCNA European delivery specialist, it can be moved around but depends on the schedule of the factory tours and delivery centers and yes you can move it around quite a bit to suit your schedule, like Track Car did.

Good luck!

Just trying to prep - this more than likely will be my one and only euro delivery in my lifetime. I am familiar with the system, my allocation will not happen until later this year (718 Spyder). Thx for the input! All is appreciated!

Best of luck and hope you are able to work it out. Did euro delivery last year in the GT3 with my dad, and we are working on getting a 992.1 C4S spring next year in Zuffenhausen to do it again together. Memories of a lifetime!

Yep, I think many of us who try Euro Delivery end up doing it more than once...

I've done two EDs and planning my third.

First one was 3 months out.
Second one was penciled in a year out because I really wanted a specific date. They can't confirm dates more than 6 months out for a variety of reasons but I got on "the list" early to beat out anybody else that wanted that date. I didn't have a commission number at the time but I was also a repeat ED guy too. Hopefully Jamie is still working in PCNA's ED department. She was fantastic.

Since this is a post in the GT3 forum (but you're getting a spyder) and by your post implication (surprised us) there now will be 3 people doing this ED. Where will your son fit in the car?

ExMB - you are a cleaver one, answers as follows:

1) Posted here yes. The individuals I have met at events like the Smokies, etc, and almost every PM I have sent have been to GT car owners on this forum section. I correspond outside of rennlist with a few individuals, all on this section of the forum, that's just how it turned out for me
2) Yes you are very cleaver here and correct - my plan is to accept the car and then rent an appropriate car with a back seat for us afterwards. My son has also offered to follow behind us in a second car.
3) Details are still being planned - just want to be out in front of it
