They have been so accommodating great friendly staff and take care of me and my car like Im part of the family..... I can say with 💯 certainty that they will be the only Porsche/Mercedes dealership that I will continue to do business with!

Good luck. Friend was BS'd endlessly on a GT2 RS they had spec'd for inventory.

Having a sign with a lame slogan doesn't give you character.

Their sales dept is miserable to work with. I visited once 6 years ago and it was a joke. After name dropping Dr's and attorney's who are good clients of their's for 10 minutes (I had no idea who these people were), they explained to me that they have plenty of clients willing to pay MSRP and do not need to offer more than a $500 discount or so. . And this was on a "normal" Porsche. Not a GT car.

Just absurd.

I bought my gt3 from R Cantena. My salesman was cool and my experience was pleasant. I bought it sight unseen other than pics. 2015 One owner 3800 miles cpo til 2021 and was in perfect condition. The salesman flew to Houston so I could sign the paperwork then he flew back the same day. I had it shipped from there to Houston via covered 18 wheeler transport. If I had found the one I wanted at Porsche north Houston I'd buy from them as all the guys I met there through the years are kwell and no stress. Hopefully the bad salesman you guys dealt w at cantena aren't there anymore.

I have bought just about all my 911s from them. My salesman is great. All regular 911 s at a nice discount and my new RS at MSRP. They always work hard to accommodate.

Ask for Mike Maranelli. Tell him Evan sent you.

I was told “Ray decides” who gets which car and you need to buy a GT car before you can be given priority for the allocations. Exactly the kind of shady setup people should avoid. Favoritism and no concept of fairness.

918 guys get first dibs as usual. Good repeat customers are second on the ladder. Customers in the tri-state area come next on allocations.

Standard fare across the country.

I have had nothing but good experience with Ray Catena. Been dealing with them for over 15 years.

Never dealt with Ray Catena and have no idea whether their dealership is good or bad but if you have a highly wanted car like a GT car and there are limited cars available and many more people who want the car, how is it shady and unfair for the owner of a private business who they decide to sell the car to?

Is entitlement that bad in our country that we should be given everything that we want?

Shady would be offering you a car and then adding an ADM on top. But to pick people who get the car based on limited inventory, having a hard time understanding how that is shady.

My local dealer has no list and no deposits, and he knows his top customers which makes sense to me. If I don’t get a car I’m totally cool with that, and as the dust settles I get a call all good by me. (Can’t always be first to the table) I always get a table at my favorite restaurant in NYC no matter what because we eat there frequently, and it’s called repeat business.

It should be first come first serve like all other “goods”. When a new iphone gets released, this would be like
apple deciding who gets the first batch of iphone X.

Too simplistic. One is a commodity and one is a "limited" product, artificially or otherwise.
