2 mm is the stiffer spring. There is no force required to put it into neutral. Just pull it out of gear and the lever automatically snaps back to neutral. The 1.5 mm is similar to the GT4 and GT3 shifter.

are the cables needed to make a true difference vs the stock GT3 one?

It means the SS Kit
takes out much of the play found in the OE shifter design.
And, the replacement cables take out some more play (found in the OE cables) for an even better shifting experience.
Beyond that, you should speak to Dan at Numeric Racing.

Wow, considering that the GT3 Manual is my 10/10 in manual transmission in terms of accuracy, feel and action.
Are you sure that the Short shifter is that much better than stock? I just can’t imagine it can be any better
Also did you try to power-shift? Any issues going from 1-2 and 2-3 without lifting the throttle?

Hello Holdens
You probably got a shifter with the stiffer 2mm spring. The 991 Carrera and S models stock shifter does not come with a centering spring. Only GT3 and GT4 came with the added spring which is a 1.5mm in diameter. I can swap the springs out and you will have less tension moving the lever left and right. It will be the same feel as the GT3 and GT4 except the throw is shorter. The stock shifter just has so much flex to it and not rigid at all. Plus everything is billet and stainless steel and uses bearings rather than plastic bushings.
