Can anyone get the Liftmaster 8500 to synch with GT3 Homelink?
I've tried several times and can't get past the step where the hazards flash 3 times. "Synchronizing the System" (Steps 8 and 9 in the Porsche manual HomeLink section p. 96) are where I get stuck. Any help would be appreciated.

Are you hitting the "learn" button on the LM head unit?
If yes, then press the programmed HL button a few times till the door moves.

I have an 8500, and found I did not need to do anything with the opener. Once the car was programmed from one of the original remotes, I just needed to hit the programmed button in the car the couple of times for the opener to sync up with the code being sent. I do remember it was a pain getting the car programmed, I.e. lights flash.

I have my 8500 programmed to my GT3 and GT3 RS.
Hold down the button you want to program in the car for like 20 seconds
Go to the front of the car and press the button on your remote for the garage door you want right by the front lights. Hold it down until the side lights flash.
Press the learn button on the 8500 wall panel twice till it lights up.
Go back in the car and press the button in the car 2-3 times slowly. Done.
just make sure your car is in range of the garage door units when you do this.

Yes. I then pressed the HomeLink button several times (3 times per manual), sometimes quickly, sometimes for a longer time. Nothing seems to be working.

Just did this yesterday with my 8500 and my new car. Was easy. I reset everything by holding the outside two buttons in the car for 20 seconds until fast blink. Then I pushed the left button and it started a slow blink. You have 5 minutes then. Take the remote and go to the front left side of the car and press the remote a couple times. You will see the blinkers blink. You are done. Had to do my garage and the neighborhood gate. Worked as the book said! I had my car outside the garage when I did it, but don't know if that mattered or not.

i would move the car out into the driveway. I’ve found I have to be head on to the door to get it to open.

Please don't park under the door.

Do your other openers work on the LM now? If not you may have reset the codes on the LM and need to reset the code in the garage unit.

2019 GT3T and found it easy on both my 8500 and the WhisperQuiet, same as GT4.
The use of LED light bulbs can interfere with garage door openers that have remote controls which operate in the 300-400MHz range (your 8500 is a 433MHz remote). The LED bulb modulator operates at a close frequency and interferes. The 8500 has a remote light and has not interfered in my installations but I plce the light 10'+ away, but units with light bulbs mounted near the control board/antenna are susceptible.
Not sure it applies to you, but when I use LED bulbs in my WhisperQuiet I had range diminish to just a few feet
