My rule is that if i don't want to put miles on something I own, i sell it and buy something I am comfortable with and want to drive. I've just learned that owning something I'm worried about depreciating brings me anxiety; not joy. That being said, over the years, my threshold for cars i feel bad about driving keeps moving: unless it is a super-low-mile-time-capsule LE car, I'm gonna want to use it as much as I can (and i just won't buy the time capsule car that I'm scared to use).
My advice is to maintain and take good care of the 7.2, but drive the wheels off of it. It's a robust car. The guy that racks up 10/20/30kmi on a 7.2rs is the one that wins. Add a second car that gives you diversity. Add a modern pdk. 7.2rs and some kind of 991 GT with pdk is an awesome and diverse combo to have.

I agree with Moody! Different cars for different drives. 991 RS with PDK is PERFECT for Long Island Expressway or the 405. 997.2 RS (or 4 Liter) is great for 74 in Rancho Mirage or 198 from King City to Coalinga.
