Thought on oil change?

Remember my .1 GT3? 80 track days. 5w-50 oil change every 10th track day. Engine refused to die and I continued to get faster all of the way up to the 80th day.
Why every 10 days? Not gonna pretend that it's the right thing to do like others here because I have zero evidence that it is the best thing to do. My hunch is that 10 days is still overkill, but I can't prove it and it made me feel better to do it.

I have a new GT3, it's definitely a MY2018 and came with MY2019 manuals, interesting, lol. Although I do not have the manuals in front of me right now, I could've sworn it only mentions 0W-40, which is odd considering my GT4 listed 0W-40, 5W-40 & 5W-50 as approved weights. I ran 5W-50 M1 in my GT4 and still have a 6 pack in the garage and when my GT3 is ready for it's first oil change, I would like to use it. Does anyone have a current A40 pdf, I haven't been able to find one. Thanks!

Youll need at least one more quart though (probably better to get 2, though you may not need it all). Think I used 7 liters (which is 7.4 quarts)

If it’s not an A40 approved oil, you can run into warranty issues...

This being my first Porsche I’m not sure on what the proper break in oil change consensus is with the rennlist crowd. Dealer told me 1 year this just seems strange since most of the cars I have owned required their first oil change after break in which was about 1000 miles. Should I have the dealer do the oil change or is it a waste of money?

When I used a razor blade to separate the filter paper and opened the pleats, there was NOTHING visible on the paper. I've done this on several cars and always found something (and on one occasion an inevitable rebuild was predicted). This is the first time I ever did it on the very first oil change of a new motor and expected to find plenty of debris from the assembly process - but nothing there - totally pristine...

For those who still choose not to believe, see Tech Notes
If your not going to keep the car long term, follow factory guidelines.
If you intend to keep it, I'd recommend an oil change at 1-2K miles, then 5K, 10K, 15K, etc. (on the 5K interval) as it is easy to remember. If you are not driving it much, change the oil at least once a year.
