Per the question about how to show Waze on your screen when you're driving and you're using Apple Car Play....
Just go to your iPhone and go to settings. In the search window of settings just type in CarPlay. It'll bring you to the CarPlay set up and you'll see Porsche. Hit that and you can configure what you see when you're driving.
Obviously you need to download the Waze App if you don't already have it.

Waze is my co-pilot for road trips, it works best when there is some traffic for all sort of alerts. Apple Play and Waze is awesome. I agree about a V1 as an extra.

On my .2 GT3, if you have waze on you phone, just connect the phone to the USB port, select CarPlay, and press Waze on your phone. Or swipe one screen to right on pcm screen and press waze icon.
for anyone interested, there is a vendor on here who offers a hardware update to older PCMs so you can use CarPlay. Now have it on my older cayenne too - it’s great!
i went valentine -> passport -> uniden r3 - best mobile one out right now and good price (let debate on arrows commence)

I use Apple CarPlay Waze and a V1 in my DD (18 Sierra 6.2) and also my 991.2 GT3. No tickets in either yet. Here in DFW, you get great alerts, almost real-time.
A month or so back, I hadn’t driven the GT3 in almost two weeks so I sneak out early one morning (before wife and baby are awake) and just go for a drive up the toll road to warm the engine. Almost zero cars out Sunday morning. I U-turn and head back down the toll road heading the other direction and crack it open on the on-ramp and get up to 120+ quick. I get a police alert on waze but I see nothing. I slow down to 65 or so to be safe and behind me an Audi is in the fast lane doing 90+mph. I hit my brake lights at him a few times and he just blows right by me.
About a quarter mile up the road, my V1 gets a laser hit. It was a state trooper under an overpass in the shadows BEHIND a concrete barricade. Almost impossible to see him until it’s too late. He is hanging out his door with the laser gun. He hops in and takes off after the Audi.
Waze saved me a BIG ticket and I’m so happy I used it. I didn’t need Nav directions anywhere as I was just running up and down the tollway, so I just had the app open. I don’t do that every time, but I definitely do now especially if I think I’m going to drive enthusiastically. Thank you to the Wazer who dimed the Trooper.

Maybe everyone but me knew this, but when you run waze it tells you when there are potholes. There was a really nasty one and it was like “pothole” and I was able to keep an eye out and miss it. It’s worth using Apple CarPlay and running waze all the time just for this feature IMHO.

I have waze on my phone but the icon does not show up on my Porsche screen. I connect the phone to the USB port between the seats start waze on my phone and it will talk over the car speakers but does not show up on the screen. How do I get it to show up on the car screen? The icon does not show up on the car screen as well.
