Always lots of interesting Porsches at Orbit Racing in West Palm. Here is an authentic 73 RS next to my GT3. They are restoring a 962 as well.

My oh my does it have a soul!
Thanks for all of the great comments and thoughts on this car. For most of you, you've lived with it for a while and you may have forgotten about the first time in a GT car. For the uninitiated, its a whole new ball game, and exactly the kind of car that Porsche should always be making. Loud, lively, taught and visceral are just a few of the adjectives to describe the sensation of driving this car. What thrilled me the most was how direct I felt to the road, go cart like almost. The low end torque in both models is more than enough to satisfy the hole shot experience I'd come to love in the M4. I finally got a chance to drive the PDK and the manual. I've read so much about the manual, that I new that would be the car for me. It felt amazing, although the clutch is a little light and throws were a little long. No biggie. What I did not like was the sport mode with auto rev matching. It just took a lot of the experience away from me. Maybe I just love to see my passengers heads snap back and forth if I don't get the rpm's right. Haha. What I was really shocked about was how much I liked PDK. The way the gears slam and how I can control rpm's with vigor and not worry about over rev's was surpassingly great. I'm undecided at this point. Here's something funny, I drove one PDK with about 1,200 miles on it. It was snappy and super crisp. The other one I drove, had about 5,000 miles on it and it was kind mushy. Not as snappy and crisp at all. The latter car was brought over from Porsche's driving experience in LA. Maybe the life has just been beaten out of it. Regardless, both options are amazing and you cannot go wrong either way. I've received and allocation and now it's time to make final selections and wait.

I think it is impossible for a man-made object to have "soul" as we know it but I think an expertly crafted man-made object can certainly improve the human soul and create an array of soulful memories between the connection of man and machine as well as with other people. Some cars, in my opinion Porsche GT cars in particularly, do this better than most others.

I've always contributed a car's soul to the raw driver's connection of a car. The more raw the experience, the more personality it has. The more feedback the driver has of that personality, the more intense the driver's connection is with the car. This also depends on the background experience of the person and whether or not that personality of the car jives with the driver's personality. There is a fit for everyone. Personally I prefer the 987/997 generation the best from a driver's connection standpoint. That said, the new 991/991.2 drivetrain is a hell of an experience and can make up for the less raw experience of the car overall. You can't go wrong with a GT car from Porsche, you just have to decide if you prefer the manual or PDK like you mentioned.
On a somewhat related note, you can always add one of our exhaust systems to the car and it will literally have SOUL
