Maybe we need an exchange program, join me in Spa and I’ll fly into CA instead driving purple car to CA :-)

2:36 is ridiculous! Must be some sort of record or close to it??
i was living out a dream driving around that track. It’s so beautiful there. Eau Rouge lived up to expectations, what a thrill. But it wasn’t my weak point. For me it was Blanchimont and Pouhon that got me; both are so fast and required you to really lay it out there and commit to trusting the car and your own skills; I admit I simply didn’t have the cajones at those places. First time on that track in my brand new car was my excuse!

Pouhon "easier" to be brave than the others given the amount of runoff relative to speed. Blanchimont and Radillon were a lot harder for me to brave. 2:46 is pretty damn good for first time, 2:35 is insane...

What a great writeup; I have enjoyed a lot reading it.

Also nice pictures by other contributors.

Sounds like a club I'd love to join :-). I have no .2 RS to offer at the moment, but if I do have a completely unused GT3 in the Bay Area and a severy underutilized sub-10s quarter-mile .2 Turbo S in Vancouver, so I can compensate quality with quantity. Anyway, you are welcome to borrow them any time regardless!

I am not sure which of the cars did this, but several of the Scandinavian RSs were on Cup 2 R tires, and the Michelin shop on site had R tires in RS sizes handy for anyone willing to take the first hit. But 2.36 is believable for regular Cup 2 or Dunlops with a very good driver on a spotless lap. Edit: just checked the official timing sheet from that Gran Turismo event and wow, really fast times there - a few below 2:40. I'm very surprised given all the traffic. I managed 2:44.4 in my rental .1 GT3, according to the beacon but I did not have a single lap that was both without major blunders and without traffic impediments, so I'll have to checks vids to see which one this was.

Have never heard of a 3RS do 2.36, driven by anyone.
The .2 will be quicker but even then, would like to see video...?
(I’m sure it’s possible on Cup R, but sceptical on Cup2)

We’re probably more limited by available time then available cars then.
Someone should buy me out because all this work stuff keeps getting in the way of track day travel, hehe.

Lets connect on calendars:
Feb - March - April- May is ED tracks for me. Only 3 months :-(
Southern Europe tracks and Spa and Ring atthe tail end, I guess.

May is Smokies event, so will try to do Barber and Road Atlanta again.
Dust off the trailer.

Then in June - Oct it will be to hot in FL so was thinking of shipping Purple to CA.
Id love to do all the tracks again FLL - SFO non stop with Virgin and Jet blue Mint class is great.
Ship car and pallet with wheels, drive to tracks on R7.

Area 27 and the Ridge I haven’t done yet. Next week Whoopsy has an event but I have been too busy to get that organized with Steven and Tom.
I can just drive it north before shipping the car back.

If my car is done I go Sebring next week to try and set the car up with the KW MR dampers.

The rest of Oct and Nov I’m traveling
December and January I have 10+ track days booked at Sebring.
You should come out, the usual suspects mentioned above and a couple Bay Area track Guys may also come out

Joe already has Porsche time share experience :-)
Lets try to get Purple to 48K mikes in the next 12 months!
You can also leave the unused GT3 with me for Dec and Jan.

Happy driver of the above video is here My lap was not the fastest of the 3RSs.
One of the green ones did a 2:36.3. Will post more details in the .1 RS .2 RS comparison thread when I find time.
Drove both cars during the event and they are worlds apart in terms of track use. I'd say the.2 is a 2:35 car at Spa. With a competent driver, clean lap in good conditions and fresh tires.

congrats, you guys were absolutely flying out there. I was just trying to learn the track and my new car while staying out of everyone’s way. That track event was by far the most amazing display of cars and driving talent I have ever attended.
